The Week Before The Festival

It was frigid there, it had snowed once again and they'd gained another foot.
Sabre wanted to go outside, but the Green Steves had grown much to attached and protective.
Where was Rainbow?
Many other questions associating
the colorful skyscraper ran through his mind.
He was worried.
"Its time for breakfast Sabre!"
One of the Green Steves called.
Sabre gave them nicknames to tell them apart.

Melon is very motherly to Sabre. Telling him all the time the dangers that awaited him outside, protesting that he should stay with them.
He was really good at cooking, and even taught Sabre his favorite dishes.
Koi is the most mature, very awkward when it comes to small talk however.
Chirp is very talkative, he enjoys poking Sabre and baking him sweets.
Alot of the time in conversation hes very loud and hyper.
Porky loves cuddles.
He can't talk very well and struggles to walk normally.
Half of his face is missing but it doesn't bother the little human.
Today he realized something that worried him.
None of them ate anything this morning.
When he was at the dinner table,  they'd stuff him but never did they take a bite themselves.
"Melon?" "Eh?"
"Why didn't you guys eat anything this morning?"
Sabre asked while taking a seat.
"Oh! Yes of course." Sabre tilted his head as Melon cleared his throat, getting ready to speak. Chirp cut him off, "It's because we're readying ourselves for the amazing Nosferatu Festival!! It's my favorite time of the year- but what sucks is that we can't eat a week before the Festival. It gets everyone all.. Worked... Up..
This is something we've been celebrating since the darkness took over and we lost our humanity, but thanks to you and the hero, we can celebrate it under the lovely baby blue skies!!!"
Chirp's words were like a roller-coaster as he spoke, almost making Sabre dizzy.
With Chirp's thick italian accent sometimes made his words barely  understandable.
At least thats what it sounded like to Sabre.
Porky giggles.
"Funny bubby funny bubby"
He chanted excitedly, waving his arms around.
Koi enters and sits at the table, greeted by Sabre's sweet and warm smile, and the childish giggles of his brothers.
He lets out a tired sigh, "Finished feeding chickens.
They'll be ready by the festival for sure."
"Ah, thank you, Koi."
Melon sparked, his eyes glimmering slightly in the golden light of the lamp above them.
After dinner, Sabre was excused to his room, he needed to think.
Nosferatu Festival?
Sabre thought.
What does Nosferatu mean?
He wondered intently.
Hmm.
He hugged his pillow.
It was always quite cold until night came, before they lit the fireplace.
Sabre walked down the stairs as the sun began to settle onto the horizon.
He stretched and sat next to Koi, who had his legs crossed and his hands neatly in his lap.
"Good afternoon little one."
"Good evening.."
Sabre trailed off into a yawn.
Koi patted Sabre on the hand, stroking his long pointy fingers through the little humans soft thin strands of chocolate colored hair.
Sabre nuzzled his face into Koi's arm, letting out a long exhale.
Chirp came down as giggly as ever, carrying Porky while Melon followed behind.
"Hehehe Sabby! Sabby!"
Porky struggled to pronounce r's, so he gave Sabre a nickname.
Chirp put Porky down in front of the fireplace next to Koi, and then sat next to Sabre excitedly.
"Hello little dove! So nice to see you chose to join us!!"
He pulled Sabre into a tight embrace as Melon sat next to them, after lighting the fire.
"You're going to break his poor bones, Chirp. Be careful.."
Melon grasped Chirp's arm, so Chirp would let go.
Porky crawled over to Sabre, hugging the little human's waist and torso and snuggled his face into his tummy.

The soft glow of the flames lit up the room, it grew quickly over time. Sabre yawned once more, playing with Porky's hair.
He leaned against Koi again, before closing his eyes.
It had been stressful, but they'd comforted him.
But the question was still burning in his mind;
where was Rainbow Steve?
