-CHAPTER NINETEEN-
-PEAKY BLINDERS-

June 1913, Small Heath, Birmingham
Tessa was sat in the betting shop all by herself. She was sewing razors into some of the flat caps for Tommy's men. As of now no men had to use the hat for anything, as Tommy was not doing any deals with dangerous men yet.
It was nice to have a bit of peace and quiet for Tessa, even if it was only going to last a couple of minutes. There was never quietness in this betting shop or anywhere else at all. Now with the baby due very soon, there was never to be quietness for years probably. Tessa didn't mind, she was always brought up to be involved with your family, and to have lots of people you love to surround you at all times. She was never in quietness, but she kind of loved all the noise of people around and chatting, and sometimes fights. She liked there to be a lot of atmosphere and buzz around the place. But she has said for years now that when she is older and has a husband and maybe some kids, she would want to settle down in the countryside.
The quietness was quickly gone, as soon as it arrived. Finn came bursting through the front door of the Shelby house. Tessa could hear him shouting into the house for anyone to answer him. The doors connecting the Shelby house and the betting shop were wide opened. Tessa shouted for the young boy from her seat in the betting shop.
As Finn made his way into betting shop through the kitchen, Tessa could smell the boy before she even saw him. Which was weird but maybe it was her hormones all over the place, or maybe not.
The next thing Tessa sees makes her eyes go wide, and stops her from sawing the razors into the hats. She turned in her chair looking at Finn. That's what the smell was.
"What the bloody hell Finn ... if Polly sees this, your dead" Tessa said pointing to him, then taking a drag from her cigarette. Finn looked at her with sad eyes "Will aunt Poll, really not let me keep this?"
Tessa sighed "Finn ... where would you even keep the dog. Polly won't look after it ... and you will probably get bored of it in like four days time"
Finn pleaded with her, while holding the medium size dog in both his hands with it resting against his chest "Can't you and John keep it in your house then, and I can come to see it everyday"
"Fuck off Finn. I am not having a dog in my house and you know that I will have to be the one looking after it. Put the dog back where you got it from ... or just leave it on the street somewhere alright"
