In the Undergrounds, a clear sky in Snowdin, just like any other day, there's everyone joyfully walking around town. Alone or with someone, or even in a group, no frown was to be seen from anyone in town. The pure white snow was the fair ground before it could fade out to FAR yards back from the forest to Waterfall, then towards Hotland, then the Core, and so forth before the king's castle could lie ahead. It was the Undergrounds that everyone knows and have been trapped under for years, but still somehow kept alive and have their ways around the frustration of finding up a way up, keeping their dreams into their heads as they do so. Especially for two skeleton brothers, who lived together in Snowdin Town their whole lives, just waiting for the right moment to travel to the surface. No doubt was too hard to get past with determination like that. Speaking of determination, it was the only way of how the barrier can be broken. If the Underground's king, King Asgore, collected the amount of seven human souls, being equivalent to the maximum determination of all the monsters in the underground, the barrier would be broken and set every living monster free from the magical glass put by the humans. Many brave monsters tried to push their limits to break the strong barrier wall, but none have been successful and with a great cost of a life were some of them years back.

Both of them knew the surface was big and made big plans and made thoughts of what it might be like up there. A large brown book is what they kept for when it does happen and they never touched it unless it's worthy enough for the surface memories. One wanted to lay back low and relax while the other wanted to travel around, meet new humans and friends, and even share their famous spaghetti recipes. Despite their differences and opposites, they wanted to achieve the same on the surface. They want to learn. They were incredibly close since the younger was born into the Undergrounds. One always caused the other annoyance hours of puns and bad jokes. But one joke they both found funny was how big their bond was to each other. Their brotherly relationship spread quickly throughout the Undergrounds after a few years since they became brothers and some monsters joke how they could be psychologically connected in someway. Because whenever they see the two together, both would have the same reactions to anything around the environment or if one gets hurt, the other has an aching physical pain inside their bones to same spot where the injured one got their injury. Two brothers would think of wondering around sometimes during the day and seeing new humans and their tactics of life. They both wanted it together. But for now, they stay under the layers of the glass magical barrier until a seventh soul is caught. And that's what the younger skeleton, named Papyrus, has ever wanted to try and do for the king.

Papyrus, all his life, has been the most innocent, motivated, generous, kind, sweet, and extroverted monster anyone has ever known. Other monsters when they see him, they couldn't help but smile from his aura interacting with the ones of sad auras in need of cheering up. You can't miss it, it's that powerful. No matter what the monster or how bad they have as a reputation, Papyrus still shows full respect and shows that by believing anyone can be a good monster or soul if they try hard enough. He doesn't have a single bad bone in his body and always has seen the brightest sides of life, and when the dark tries to come in to play, Papyrus makes the light himself and makes it brighter by his chirpy personality. He is the cure to everyone's bad day in the Underground and the monsters knew that whenever they either see him on the streets of Snowdin, or whenever they see his older brother, Sans, at Grillbys and rave about him, mostly the women. Sans couldn't have been the luckiest monster in the entire grounds to have Papyrus as a brother and the way for him to feel more safe and relaxed, it's how his mental state stayed on the greener side since both parents went "missing" a few years ago. Sadness was rarely a thing to Papyrus all throughout his bright life and his brother and family secretly try to keep it that way, they couldn't even imagine of how it was like if it were the opposite. Papyrus, like a lot of monsters, have big dreams, and that dream is to become part of the Royal Guard for the great King Asgore and help bring safety and protection to the townsfolk he's ever known. It didn't matter what it took to get in, Papyrus wanted to provide the safety for everyone while he gives smiles for a free price of a belief they can make it through whatever it may be that makes them struggle to hold on. His trainer and best friend, Undyne, has been training him for a long time and she could even say how strong Papy has gotten over time and she even gave the dare to try and let Papyrus capture any fallen human. If he did win the lifetime task, Papyrus would be the newest member to the high royal guard. That's why Papyrus still holds on, but sometimes I'm secret, questions why and trains alone in the forests so thin but thick, nobody can see his swift movement from tree to tree and bones vanishing left and right.
