That night with Stretch and the others was something Papyrus could never really forget but rethink about how he made friends in the first place. The way he did this time then before was a complete contrast to how he talked to monsters back in the Undergrounds. Back then, he felt like he had to speak in order to strike up popularity and perfect his reputation with a good conversation or making others feel a grant of safety. But since he figured out about people only wanting Sans for their words to be given, it made him almost the entire self laughing stalk in the entire Snowdin town. However, since that time with Coffee, he felt like a whole different person among himself and Coffee didn't even have to use a physical voice to say anything.

Something about talking to Coffee sort of made Papyrus come out a little bit, and be comfortable with talking to other monsters, especially those from a completely different universe than his own. Coffee and him ended up exchanging numbers and texting for the rest of the night after the welcoming party. As good as it felt to be welcomed into the Surface by a bunch of Fells unrelated to you, he felt security the same way Toriel supplied his every need. He just needed to adjust to where he talked and who to talk to.

On top of all of that, Papyrus finally managed to complete his 90% in his whole home within two sleepless nights, since he didn't wish to sleep and receive nightmares for the cost of sleep. The only 10% remaining was his own bedroom, with it being the same as it was before. Papyrus didn't mind sleeping on the gifted blankets or on his own values of clothes on the floor, its better than nothing. He would rather spend time getting his proper comfort after finishing everyone else's.

For today, he wanted to try and take a break for once, remembering Mother Toriel's words as clear as day: You must give yourself a good break after such a project being well done. As much as he know he doesn't deserve a break after so many he's gotten off of, Papyrus didn't wish to let his new caretaker figure down by disobeying her word, even if she isn't around to say it. For those words to be done, he got himself to agree on the urge of hanging around his new friends around town to tour around and get used to their new living space outside the forest-like environment they're living just hidden from the outside sidewalks. For the first time in a while, Papyrus could smile about hanging around other monsters on his own cord. This time he didn't feel as exhausted as he could've been if he was in the Undergrounds.

Papyrus felt free.

For once, he was embracing that large hit that he was finally free. That moment finally hit him but not in the way he thought he would like some people who would have a moment to think it deep.

He felt happy...

Just by the early noon, Papyrus was getting into his battle body after what felt like forever since he last worn it. Making sure the scarf was perfectly around his neck, Papyrus tied it the way he remembers Mother Toriel tying it before they went out to greet some of the Ruins monsters. God how he wishes she was here to meet the Fells. Despite their rough nature and such attitude, Toriel would appreciate their care towards him and how respectful they were with his decisions. Just because he was so young, doesn't mean his mind isn't beyond his capacity to know which step to take and what's best for himself and others around him. Papyrus was no idiot and he used to laugh when people would think he was. He was thankful the Fells weren't like he others, and for once he wished he could show off all of his new friends to his big brother and Undyne back home. Boy, would she be jealous, ESPECIALLY over Betta.

Papyrus steps out of his new home with the partially cloudy skies giving gentle rays of afternoon sunshine onto his front porch. He smiled to see it and gave a gentle wave up to it before looking around to see everyone else's homes from left to right, all the homes creating a circular little large home. It's nothing like Snowdin but it's still homey to how similar each house looked like down the lane. The skeleton pulls out his phone and made sure to have the text chat with Coffee and Edge were all set for the day out in town. The three plan to take a small to mid walk with Stretch and Blue to get used to the neighbor and city just streets away from their forest location and see what the other humans were like. He gave a quick text as he walked down the big cement trail that led to the homey circle and down to the where the street was, being sure he was on the right side in case of anyone coming in via vehicle of any kind.
