A few days later,

The days since that phone call felt like years to Papyrus as he was preparing for that party 'date' Mettaton invited him to. A lot of monsters were talking and gossiping about it and how hard it would be to get invited into such a drastic and five-stared party and see Mettaton in person without needing a pass to see him. Despite being an invite himself and the extrovert he 'was,' Papyrus kept it only to himself and Sans. Even online he kept it quiet with some of his blog and chat with Undyne and Alphys. He only told them when he was ready for that part of Undyne, to text her if they kiss or have any 'exchangements,' which Papyrus didn't really understand but took it as a good sign. Sans seemed pretty happy and support for him, and he even helped pick out a nice outfit to wear: a long flowing gown that shall reveal the suit pants in the front but act as a dress for all else, a nice tie, and slight high heels, but the last thing was a surprise. In secret from his brother, Sans hoped they could possibly get together and ship it to the surface. It was a cute thing to him since Papyrus told him about Mettaton, as a ghost before his robot body, meeting him on the swing set.

He waited downstairs for the big presentation of his baby brother in the suit they bought. Sans smiled down at the small gift in hopes of reminding Papyrus of one little thing. He's been doing a LOT more work than just century duty and something didn't fit into how much work Papyrus has been putting into protecting not only him, but also Frisk too. Speaking of which, Frisk was playing with the dog outside in the back, waiting too for Papyrus's reveal. They adored and loved Papyrus to death and wished they could have that battle again but in dance mode just for the fun of it. They would sometimes catch up with Papyrus every time he went out to patrol the forest and talk about anything happening around town or even some new things they never knew about the place. It would be a great place to stay till they can have their mercy for Asgore.

In the room of the tall skeleton, it was almost all blaring with the light on and the window open for nice gesture of air to blow at the small cape of the gown around his upper skeletal body. He borrows some of the waterproof-whitening texture powder to cover those nightmarish bags under his eye sockets. Mettaton would never want to see someone like that, otherwise what else would he think of him? But the cuts he didn't really worry about, the sleeves did the work perfectly. The reflection of the mirror shows that smile wholesomely upon Papyrus's face as he adjusted his tie to look his best for the best monster in the Underground, besides Sans of course. He lets his hands down to each and held both of them as he stared into his reflection. He didn't think he would be able to see such beauty in the gowned outfit. Papyrus thought about those few times he ate just for that skinny bod everyone wants, and felt the need to congratulate himself for having his work be at ease. Mettaton could appreciate more of him instead of the his weighed self back then. Even when they knew each other before, it felt more.....free.

Papyrus finally felt beautiful. All his work paid off so Mettaton could love him even more than just the outfit!

His alarm from his phone sends him into a small jolt and nearly dropping down with his heels barely giving away. He picked it up and saw a ten minute old text message from Mettaton, saying that he will be there soon to see Papyrus. An orange blush came upon his cheek bones while the soft smile remains on his face. He texts back that he was ready and couldn't wait to be at the party for the evening. Papyrus puts his phone away into a small MTT-branded bag that carried some cash in case for food or anything essential. He was so excited and he never felt this way in so long, it almost felt like he's been years since the last time he's been truly excited and not faking it. The skeleton looks around his room with the window letting in some of the wind from outside. As if someone were there to see him look so nice and beautiful, he smiled at the room before himself. It's true of how he felt: no tears, no insecurity, no emotions about his looks. It's all covered now and the work is doing it's job.
