Feelings and Dreams

Kion is in the magical realm known as Dreamland. And this dream in the great country of Dreamland is a good one. A really good one. Why?

Because it involves Fuli, the fastest cheetah ever. She's also an old friend, a member of the Lion Guard, and the sole animal that Kion has a crush on. I'm not going to go into all the reasons why Kion suffers from infatuation with her, because we'd be here a while. Anyway, the dream was originally really great and amazing and awesome and all other types of positive verbs, but then turned a little bit dark. Kinda dark as in villainous kinda dark.

Kion and Fuli ran though the Pridelands, laughing as they raced past the dead trees and yellow grass commonly affiliated with the dry season of the Pridelands, where many things died and there was little water and much heat. Kion was gaining on Fuli as the two started sprinted side by side.  "You're slow," Kion yelled, pulling ahead. Fuli smirks. "Huwezi!" She zips past Kion, leaving him in the dust, literally. She stops right at the edge of the Pridelands, and looks at him, smirking.

"Seriously," Kion asks. Fuli mock-growls at him, her eyes flashing playfully with no signs of irritation or anger. "That's my line, babe." Kion likes hearing Fuli call him 'babe.'

Kion grins and jumps at her, growling playfully. He lands on top of her, and he laughs,  and glances down at her. That was a mistake. Fuli looks at him all innocent, then she leaps up, toppling Kion to the ground. She chuckles at Kion's misfortune. Then she tackles him.

Kion looks up at her, smiling dreamily. Fuli looks at him, through half-lidded eyes. Kion slowly moves his face up towards her, when Fuli cackles. It wasn't a nice cackle either (not that there usually is such things as a nice cackle, as cackling is usually associated with villains or other antagonistic characters of some sorta variation or something). A kinda of darker cackle, one that makes his think of...

"Scar," Kion growls, all playfulness gone. Fuli's face starts to contort, and so does the rest of her, as she begins changing into someone else. He watches angrily, shoving Fuli off of him as her body finishes morphing into Scar's thin and lanky lion body.

"Stop messing with my head," he roars. The sky doesn't darken, because while this is a lucid dream, Scar is somehow controlling it. Kion snarls, and he lunges for Scar, but Scar slips easily to the side, doing it almost effortlessly.

"Temper, temper," he chuckling says, grinning. "You know very well that I can't stop. This isn't my dream, after all, it's yours. It's up to you what goes on in here. It is your mind. Not mine. Yet."

Kion shivers at the implications of that word and reflects on all it's possible meanings. "You're dead. You shouldn't be talking to me. Not like this. What did you do, possess my scar?"  He says this sarcastically, not knowing that is how Scar actually managed to do all of this.

Scar chuckles. "Well, well, you are clever. Just like your father." He leans in close to Kion, so their faces are almost touching. "Just like me."

Kion snarls and backs off. "I am nothing like you, Scar. Nothing."

Scar laughs, long and loud. "That's where you're mistaken, Kion. Sisi ni Sawa, Kion. We're the Same!"

Kion shakes his head. "No, no. Get out of my head," he says, yelling the last part.

"Kion?" says a voice. The voice is disembodied and echoey, but it seems...familiar. Like someone he just saw and he knows he loves but can't recognize who it is..."Kion?"

Kion jerks awake. He gasps, and looks around. He's a rocky cave, lying on a slab of rock on the ground. He looks up and sees the animal whose voice it was, an animal he was just recently thinking about.

"Hey, Kion," says Fuli. "You okay?"
