Elliot and I ended up talking all night. He helped me with Adrian when he woke up from his naps. Playing with him when I went to make lunch and dinner.

"What time is your dad coming home?" He asked while running a hand up and down my back.

Adrian was now asleep upstairs in his proper crib while Elliot and I laid on the couch.

I raised my head that was lying on his chest, "He told me he's visiting his girlfriends house, so he'll probably spend the night there,"

He hummed, "Are you going to be okay by yourself?"

"I've spent nights alone before," I said, turning back to watch the movie

Elliot chose some movie off of Netflix, and I liked it so far.

He hummed. I smiled against the vibrations his chest sent my way

When the movie credits played I checked the time on my phone.

11:30 pm

"You should probably get home now," I said, not moving from our position

"Yeah, before my cousin starts getting worried,"

"Yeah," I zoned off

A silence washed over us, no one wanting to move away from their spot.

A few beats passed before Elliot made the first move and we both stood up completely. I turned on the living room lamp as Elliot searched for his shoes.

I walked him to the door, "I'll see you tomorrow?" I asked

"Yeah, maybe we can take Adrian to the park or something," He suggested

I nodded, "That'd be nice," I smiled and looked up at him

He cupped the left side of my face and leaned in for a kiss, our lips meeting when I followed his action.

The familiar heat from the New Years party returned to my cheeks. I pressed my hand flat against his cheek. He pulled away then went back in for a couple pecks before I pulled away completely

"The park tomorrow?" I asked

"The park tomorrow," He assured

He walked out of my house and to his car, giving me one final wave before pulling off down the street.

I felt giddy and an excitement I haven't felt in a while.

The next morning when I woke up I laid in bed for a while. Then I remembered the plans I made with Elliot the night before.

I grabbed my phone and opened his contact

I sent the message and waited for confirmation from him

I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I sprayed my hair with water and refreshed my hair products.

I went down the stairs and into my kitchen, getting the eggs and waffles out of the fridge and freezer. I put two waffles in the toaster and cracked the eggs in a bowl, adding salt, pepper, and cheese then scrambling them in my pan. When the eggs were done, I grabbed a mug and poured some coffee that my dad brewed before he left this morning. I went to the fridge to add caramel syrup and mocha coffee creamer. I went to get Adrian's food ready. Just as I put the bowl on the high chair tray Adrian called for me.

"Mama!" He called out

"I'm coming bubbies!" I called back

I walked up the steps to my boy.
