Chapter 57 - Accomplishments

It has been more than 30 minutes since nancys birthday celebration started and not even a shadow of Jennie's hair can be seen.

Somehow, nancy and Lu CL are feeling nervous. They already prepared everything; how can Jsh not attend this party?

"Hmp. Still so arrogant after all. She thinks she is above everyone else! So what if she is a little smart?" crystal grumbled. Although she is not aware of their plan she is still waiting for jennie to show.

nancy's party may not be as grand as Jennie's but there are also important guests in this party.

"Shhh... lower down your voice.." nancy immediately chastised her cousin.

Today, nancy is wearing the eight million dress that Lu CL wanted. It is a red beaded A-Line gown made of ivory silk with a silver embroidered waistband.

It is her day. So, it is only reasonable for her to wear the most beautiful dress at the party. After all, this is her time to shine.

"Ah... here you are. Why are you just standing here?" Lu CL said while approaching both nancy and crystal. « Come, your father wanted to introduce you to some of his business partners."

Nancy followed Lu CL as they made their way into wonbin who is happily talking to some prominent foreign businessman.

"Oh. Here she is." he immediately announced the presence of her daughter and wife the moment he sees them.

"Everyone, this is my lovely daughter. She is celebrating her birthday tonight." he proudly said, his eyes flashing from joy. He is in fact very proud of nancys accomplishments.

Even though she is still young. Everyone already knows her as a young talent and genius in school. That scandal tainted her reputation. But so what? Didn't she just become one of the top students yesterday?

Aside from that, these investors, that he is talking today are mostly from outside the country. They have no idea about nancy's scandal.

"Ah. I heard! This must be Miss kim. I am well aware of your accomplishments abroad. I heard you also got the second spot of the National Exams? How delightful!" A woman in her fifty's said with excitement.

This woman is clearly not aware of nancy's true identity. She came in late and was not able to hear wonbin introducing her daughter at the beginning of the party.

The atmosphere immediately turned cold after the comment of the old lady.

"Eh... Mrs. Johnson. What accomplishments are you talking about? I never knew that Miss kim studied abroad" Another investor inquired. He is not from outside of the country so he is quite familiar with the kim Family.

"Oh. Miss kim right here is an accomplished poet abroad. I believe she went to one of the top university abroad. My grandson used to be her schoolmate. She is so young and talented. Too bad I didn't have the opportunity to meet her when I visited her school. Now I feel so lucky to attend her birthday. She is not only a talent but also a beauty!" Mrs. Johnson explained as her eyes beamed with happiness.

She already heard of Miss kim's name before. She even thought of having a marriage alliance to this young lady. After all she is acquainted with Jennie's father.

Now, that she had the opportunity to face her, she will not waste this opportunity.

"Wow! That is impressive! I didn't know you have such a talented and beautiful daughter Mr. kim! »Another investor joined the conversation.

"Ah?... eh..." wonbin awkwardly said.

"Right. My daughter is not only talented but also very smart ah." Lu CL said. This people was clearly talking about jennie and not her daughter. But really? Who cares? That b*tch woman is clearly not here!

"Oh... Chanming, is that how you welcome your big brother?"Tianqi's arrival is quite unexpected even for wonbin.

He couldn't even remember the last time that he saw his Elder Brother. wonbin furrowed his brows. His Elder brother must be up into something. Else, he will not show up here unannounced.

"Elder Brother, you fail to inform me that you will be late! I already started the party without you. I don't want everyone to wait. Please accept my apologies." wonbin respectfully said. His tone might sound apologetic but his meaning is the exact opposite.

wonbin wanted everyone to emphasize that his brother is late. What businessmen value most of all is their time.

Who would want to associate themselves with people who are always tardy?

"Ah... no worries...no worries. Hahaha...Oh. Here is my favorite birthday girl! Happy Birthday, nancy! Here, this is my gift!" Tianqi cheered, ignoring the meaning behind wonbin'swords.

"Eh? What nancy? Isn't this Miss jennie kim? The one who studied abroad?" Mrs. Johnson asked, her nose wrinkled, face full of contempt.

Did wonbin's wife just lied to them?

"No... No... This is my niece,nancy kim. The birthday girl! hahaha... Mrs. Johnson, you must forgive my brother. After all, he is not in good terms with his eldest daughter." Tianqi declared without a little bit of shame. How could he miss the opportunity to embarrassed wonbin ?

After hearing Tianqi's words,wonbin and Lu CL's face contorted. While nancy lowered her head and clenched her fist.

That woman is still making trouble for her even if she is not here!

"Good! Very Good Mr. kim I never thought that you will be like this." Mrs. Johnson said with a mocking smile. Although it is partly her fault for mistaking nancy as jennie, she still finds it unreasonable for Lu CL to agree with her.

In reality, Mrs. Johnson is a very shrewd businesswoman. She will never do something that will never give her any benefit.

Now that she knows the truth about wonbin and jennie, her goal is already close to impossible. She is already thinking of pulling all her investments from the kim Corps.

Wonbin was about to apologize when he suddenly heard a soft mellow voice.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, We apologize for being late!"
