When the group arrived at the venue, many people immediately greeted Old Man Manoban.

However, what attracted the most attention was Lisa and Jennie who had entered the venue hand in hand.

"What a beautiful girl. When will you guys tie the knot?" a mature woman asked Lisa when she was introduced to Lisa and Jennie by her husband.

"Soon... Mrs. Chen. Don't worry, we will send an invitation to everyone," he answered happily. Even though he had already married Jennie, the thought of their marriage was still making him ecstatic. Moreover, he still owed her a grand marriage..

"Oh... I am so excited to see such a beautiful couple. Chittip, you are one lucky mother-in-law to have Miss Kim as your son's wife," another guest chimed in.

They were currently surrounded by a group of mature men and women who wanted to curry favor to both the Wang and Manoban families.

"I agree... Zhao Chittip is really lucky to have Miss Kim as a daughter-in-law. She is not only very beautiful but also very smart, especially when it comes in business," another person said.

However, the conversation instantly turned stiff when one of the guests opened up a conversation about the current predicament of the Wu Conglomerate. Everyone seemed to be aware that many of the shareholders had decided to pull out and transfer to Manoban Conglomerate.

Some expressed their concerns to Lisa.

Some people also started to doubt if Jennie was really suited to be Lisa's wife, especially some of the manoban Family's close friends and relatives.

Aside from this, people had started to praise LIsa's cousin as the calm, cold and talented young master of the Manoban Family.

Moreover, many people thought that if Zouyi were to challenge Lisa, he would have a great chance of winning and obtaining the patriarch position.

This conversation continued until Jennie decided to distance herself and go to the bathroom to freshen up. For her, these people were not important. Moreover, she was already married to Lisa so their opinion didn't really matter.

"I told you to stop staring at Jennie. What are you doing staring at her like a creep?" she heard someone's voice as she was about to enter the bathroom. Her curiosity instantly piqued so she decided to eavesdrop a little.

"Honglie let me go... I was not staring. I..."

"Shut your trap. You useless piece of sh*t! I don't want to attract her attention! So stop staring at her!"

The woman started to sob.

"Stop crying! What are you crying for?" The woman did not answer as she continued to sob. "Don't come back to the party. I will let everyone know that you are feeling sick. What a useless woman!"

Jennie then heard footsteps coming her way. She pretended to hum before opening the door to the bathroom.

"Miss Kim I did not know that you were here." Jennie turned to look. Her face instantly blossomed into a smile when she saw that it was Lisa's uncle, Honglie.

"Mr. Manoban... I was just about to freshen up. How come you are here and not at the party?" She asked, her face did not show any sign that she heard what had transpired a minute ago.

"Oh... Please call me Uncle. Anyways, I had to accompany your Aunt Liyin since she was not feeling well at the party."

"Really? Is she feeling any better now?" she asked.

"She is already resting. I have to head back to the party so I left her to rest for now."

"That's good to hear. I have to go freshen myself. See you at the party Uncle." She waved her hand before making her way into the bathroom.

Jennie was able to confirm that Honglie was abusive towards his wife. However, it was still not clear why he would stop his wife from staring at Jennie.

Was he hiding something?

Was that why he didn't want to attract Jennie's attention?

What about his wife? Why was she acting weird around her?

Jennie felt a headache when she thought about the questions that were starting to pile up in her brain.

However, her suspicions towards Lisa's uncle just got bigger and bigger as time passed. All she needed now was to announce that she was the owner of RubyJane Corp.

After Jennie had finished retouching her makeup, she immediately went back to the party and told FLisa about what she had witnessed a while ago. Lisa frowned at her words.

"I will let Father announce the engagement in a bit," Lisa said. Since Honglie did not want to attract Jennie's attention, it could only mean that he was hiding something.

After some time, Marco Manoban announced the engagement to everyone. In addition, to everyone's surprise, he also informed them of Jennie's affiliation with RubyJane Corp.

Everyone stood there stupefied at Marco's words. Jennie owned RubyJane Corp? If she was to marry Lisa then... then wouldn't it double, if not triple, Lisa's influence?

That would mean his chances against Honglie had now doubled. For some of them, this was very good news. However, to some people, this was a piece of very bad news.
