The Kings Mate

Chapter 4

I woke up the next morning with a vicious headache. I slowly got up and looked around. I was not in the forest anymore. Instead I was in my home. Memories came flooding in. I walked into my living room to see Blake sitting in my rocking chair. His hands in his face crying. He must have just woken up as well. I walked over to him slowly.  

Blake, its going to be okay. Will get threw this. I said sadly pulling him into a hug. 

Blake was currently dating one of my little sisters Jenna. She and him had been dating for over 2 years. He proposed earlier this year. She was his life and I knew that.  We had all grown up together. 

I cant believe she's gone. I cant believe that there all gone. He said in between sobs. 

Either can I. I stated under my breath. 

The next  couple weeks had been hard. I had buried my family in closed caskets. Settled all there finances thru a lawyer and fought for my inheritance. I hired managers for my fathers land and my house for renters. I had decided I was no longer going to live in the same place as what once was home. 

I needed a fresh start and the only way I was going to get that was if I left the area. I could have just jumped to another state but I needed more distance. I found a place online in Scotland and I was going to move there and live my dream life. Alone in the woods in a cabin. 

So after finding the place and paying for it. I started to pack up my stuff. I had quit my job due to my state and they were more than okay with my decision. The hardest decision was when I found out that trying to get my dogs over to Scotland was going to be pretty much impossible due to there size. So I had to ask Blake if he wanted to take care of them while I am in Scotland for at least a year.  I knew I just needed a year and after the year I would come back and visit. Then I would make a decision.

As the plane took off into I couldn't help but shed more tears. Everyone I knew and loved was now gone. I was completely on my own.
