The Kings Mate

Chapter 10

Deans POV

I had meetings today with different packs from around the areas. Rogues of all kinds were starting issues. The packs that we had a good agreement with were the Claw pack a group of werebears, Dragon heart which were a dragon clan and the Forest Fire which were a clan of the last Fae on earth. 

Rogues were a common name for the wolf, bear and dragon clans. There were a lot of packs in the world of these were creatures. The Fae were the last clan left. They resided here in my kingdom for protection. 

We only had a few enemies which were Vampires, Warlocks and Hunters. They have hated us and always attacked us for no reason. Vampires think they are better than us and try to kill us on site. Warlocks have partnered with Hunters to kill us due to our powers. Its sad to say but we have been fighting for centuries. 

Rogues were just creatures from clans that leave the packs due to illegal activities or by choice because they didn't like the rules. Each clan has multiple packs scattered across the world. Most of the packs have a King and Queen that rule over all of them and keep them safe and hold order. Of course all of the clans kings and queen live here in Scotland. So its easy for us to all meet and help each other when we need it. 

I walked to the throne room in my castle. There was 4 sets of thrones seated on every side of the room. The Wolves on the north side, the Dragons on the south, the Fae to the east and the Bears to the west.

Welcome I stated and made my room to my throne. I was the last to not have someone on my side. Matthew is the bear king he met his mate Meredith last year. Logan is the dragon king and his mate Laura they meet last year as well. River is the Fae king and his mate Forest meet 8 years ago. 

So what's the news in your kingdoms? Any update on the rogues problems? I asked the group.

We have had a slight increase in our rouges and have noticed that the rogues of all werecreatures are banning together creating odd groupings. Matthew stated.

Okay that's not great but we still have the man power to take care of correct? Logan stated.

Yes of course. As long as we get a handle on it now. I want you to try and capture a couple rogues so we can get some answers. We don't need to fight against our own kind and the rest of the idiots. I growled the last part out. 

They all nodded in agreement. Matthew smiled brightly and coughed at me. So are we going to be expecting you to host of you finding your mate? He asked.

I smiled brightly. I am taking my time and warming up to her but I will let you know when we will have a ball. Its not easy telling your human mate that your a werewolf. All of a sudden Meredith and Laura laughed out loud.

You think they stated with laughter following. Both of them being human at one point. Before there mating ceremony. Once a werecreature finds there human mate once they complete the mating ceremony they will become a werecreature for the safety of themselves and the pack. If they are not human then the mating ceremony is just as intense but doesn't effect who they are. 

Alright lets move on to other topics. I stated 

Just then the door burst open and in came my beta came in running. Sir, there's been a situation. A group of rogues have entered our land. The cloaked there scent and got close to the border. We were only able to capture one of them. The rest ran off we trailed most of them but with whatever ability they have to go undetected. 

How close did they get to the castle? Matthew asked concerned.

Almost 10 miles... Sir I'm afraid your mate was caught in this. We couldn't find her but we did find an alarming amount of blood. 

I growled loudly and got out of my chair. My wolf was seeing red. My mate was missing and could be injured. 

My beta instantly bowed and quickly spoke. We are damn sure the wolf we captured was the one to attack her. Her scent is all over him. Bring him in. He yelled.

The doors opened and in walked a rogue in chains. My gamma and one of my other trusted men held him. I walked up to him and punched him in the face.

Where is my mate? I growled.

Dead! he said spitting blood from his mouth on the ground. 

I will kill you. Tell me where she is or I swear to the moon goddess I will rip out your heart. I stated enlarging my nails. 

His face shifted. He all of a sudden got scared knowing he would die if he didn't. 

Look man, I was told to do this. Find the girl and kill her. That was my order. She jumped in the water before I could finish her. She never resurfaced so I figured she drowned. I tried to find her but I couldn't. Please don't kill me. 

Who told you to kill my mate? I yelled loudly. 

Sam Stark... he is the leader of the rogue wolves. 

Why does he want to kill my mate? 

He says she always belonged to him. Always will or she would die.  He screamed out. 

Put him in the dungeon. Matt, Logan, Alex and Greyson with me. We are finding my mate dead or alive I growled out. 

Were coming to. She might need a friendly face to see if she is still alive. Laura stated.

Fine lets go. Shift and meet me at the waterfall. I stated. 

We all ran out of the castle and shifted. Alex and Greyson were hot on my tail as we bolted towards the waterfall. We arrived in a few minutes. Laura and Logan were already there looking around. Matthew and Meredith just arrived behind us. 

Fan out look for anything that could help us. I roared.

We looked on land for over 20 minutes. We couldn't find her. We found all of her things that she left behind but nothing that would lead us to her. I saw the blood which really angered my wolf. 

Lets try and look in the water maybe we could find something there. Matthew stated shifting back into human form. He walked over to a bush and bulled out shorts and clothes for there mates. 

I shifted and threw on the basketball shorts he threw at me. Greyson and Alex stay shifted and watched the area. Logan stated. 

We dove in the water and began searching the area for Cora. I started to think of where she would have gone. When I remembered the cave we had swam into a few days back. I started diving towards it with Laura hot on my tail. We quickly made it inside the cave.

We both  gasped for air as we resurfaced. I went to the edge and pulled myself up. Suddenly the smell of moss and coffee over took me. The place was well lit due to the moss and crystals. I looked around scanning the walls until my heart dropped. There in the corner of the cave leaning against a rock was my mate. I rushed over to her and gently grabbed her. 

Your safe now baby, I got you. I mumbled in her ear.
