Gilbert Nightray x Reader: Surprise Dinner

"Are you sure?" You asked the seaweed headed male as he grabbed a large bowl from the top cupboard.

"Yes! I know you wish to help but what part of 'Surprise dinner' involves the person meant to be surprised cooking as well?" Gilbert stated.

You narrowed your eyes at him from your place on a stool in the near corner "nrr.." you grumbled which earned a over the shoulder look by Gil.

"I just want to help.." you whined and poked your fingers together, Gilbert turned to you and sighed "haah..fine.." he murmured.

You instantly perked up and dashed over to him "really!?" You asked enthusiastically and Gil nodded, he pointed over to a cutting board on the opposite side of the counter.

"Wash off those potatoes then peel them and cut them into medallions" he gave you the orders and you quickly went to do them, He looked at you and couldn't help but smile "heh.."

After you washed the potatoes you peeled them and began chopping. Gilbert, being the worrywart he was kept glancing at you every five seconds.

You caught notice of this and stared straight at him "What is it?" You said with a agitated tone which made Gil act as though he wasn't doing a thing.

"Huh? What do you mean?" He asked and you narrowed your eyes "don't act like you weren't staring" you stated and pointed your knife.

He widened his eyes then looked back to what he was making "staring at what? I've just been cooking.." he muttered.

"Oh? I see.. then I will just go back to cutting these potatoes.." you said and began cutting once again well also keeping your eye on Gil.

You could tell from his posture that he was trying not to look but ended up breaking down and turning to you.

"Ha! I knew-!!" Your eyes grew large and so did Gilbert's "I knew not to trust you with knifes!!" Gil exclaimed and ran over to you.

Due to how determined you were on catching Gil you unintentionally cut down on your thumb, luckily you stopped yourself before you cut any further and only ended up with a small gash.

Still Gil scolded you and told you not to get anywhere near the kitchen until he said so.

So you went to the lounge and in there saw Oz and Alice "ah (Y/n) dinner not going so well?" Oz asked as he skipped over to you.

You shrugged and looked back in the direction of the kitchen "..you could say that.." you grumbled and Alice laughed.

"HA! The Seaweed head has no luck with women!" She shouted and you could hear something fall to the floor in the kitchen.

You and Oz both chuckled and Alice laughed with emphasis "heh Alice does have a point, Gilbert is terrible when it comes to women.." Oz said and got down on one knee.

"That being said.." he took your hand and looked up at you as he pulled a rose out from within his vest.

"I have no such problems, so what say you lovely lady become my mistress and ditch that clumsy-" "Nahh ahh! Dinners ready!!" Gilbert announced, cutting Oz off completely.

You chuckled and withdrew your hand from Oz's, Oz rose to his feet and threw the rose to the side "oh well" he said jokingly.

You looked at the small blonde and kissed his cheek then ran off into the hall "thanks Oz" you said since you knew he was only trying to egg on Gilbert into telling you his feelings.

Oz rubbed his cheek and blinked his large emerald eyes ".." "Hey don't get any ideas man servant!!" Alice stated and Oz sweat dropped "'ideas'..?"

Meanwhile you made your way to the kitchen, skipping along "hmm~! Something smells G O O D! Did Gilbert make me something special for..m..e.." your words trailed off at the end and your eyes widened as you stepped into the kitchen.

The room had changed entirely, the kitchen was candle lit, the table was covered with a decorative cloth and had plates with delicious looking food on it and to the side stood Gilbert holding a blue rose.

Gilbert looked down and coughed then looked at you and walked over "um..(Y/n).. you see for a long time now i-" he tried but you cut him off.

You stood on your tiptoes and pressed your lips to his making his eyes grow large only to soon close, he snaked his arms around your waist as he kissed you back passionately.

"Tsk..Damn.." Oz said as he snapped his fingers and peaked around the corner, Alice was astounded and didn't know what to say.

You and Gil eventually pulled away from each other and you looked into his golden eyes.

"I love you Gilbert" you said and his face became slightly red "I love you too (Y/n)" he said as he leaned in "I always have" he whispered before once again locking lips.

The moment was perfect or at least until Alice saw the large roast in the center of the table "Waah!?" She exclaimed and ended up digging in, turning your 'Surprise dinner' into a group one.
