Amaya used to be cheerful, happy and bright. Everyone around her couldn't help but smile after seeing her own dazzling one. She had many friends and the people in her village adored her, all mothers and fathers going as far as to ask for her hand in their son's marriage in the future, but Amaya's mother wasn't about to sell off her daughter. Her family consisted of a caring mother and father, both of them the best parents for 3 children. Amaya had an older brother named Hinata and a younger brother named Akio. Hinata was roughly 8 years older than Amaya yet Akio was only 2 years younger than their only sister. Amaya was happy. Her family was happy and joyful, her village was close and cosy, Amaya really couldn't ask for anything better.

So then why was it all taken from her in the blink of an eye?

Her family's screams were barely audible over the sounds of crashing and burning outside, her entire village having been set on fire. She vaguely recalled the explosion, the silence after it and the complete chaos last. Her hands trembled as she looked at the scene in front of her, unable to make the 8 year old girl look away. Her eyes were wide but she didn't dare move a muscle. She could only watch as this monster munched on her brother's lifeless body, only one of his dead eyes staring back at her since the other one had already been devoured. Her younger brother laid a small distance away, the only thing remaining were his hands.

Her mother was still squirming next to them, clenching her husband's kimono as she tried to shake him awake. Her sobs reached Amaya's ears, but it all sounded so quiet. The loudest noise would be of her own heartbeat. It was going way too fast, even a child like Amaya knew this. But instead of running to safety, or jumping in to help, she just stood still. She didn't know what else to do. Her large blue eyes were wide open, her pupils shaking as she could only stare at the monster on top of her brother. She knew that one wasn't the only one, since she could hear the neighbors wife screaming bloody murder.

Amaya's mother's gaze soon settled on her daughter, feeling her heart break at the sight of her. Amaya's face was coated in blood that wasn't her own, and she was seemingly paralysed as she watched. Her mother weakly crawled towards her, her leg having been ripped off with the destruction of their home. She grabbed onto her daughter's purple kimono, pulling on it as hard as she could, though it only felt like a small tug. It managed to grasp Amaya's attention as her wide, fearful eyes landed on her weeping mother. "Run...! Run, my dear Amaya! And don't look back! Don't be scared, just run!" ordered her mother as tears poured out of her eyes, yet her voice was still as sweet as Amaya knew it best.

Amaya only stared back, her vocal chords having been broken and laid still as soon as the wall blew apart only a few minutes prior. The lack of response from Amaya caused her mother to cry even harder as she dropped her head, looking down at the ground as she weakly pushed against her daughter, causing her to stumble and fall on her butt. Yet Amaya couldn't move. She was terrified, absolutely horrified. So even when one of the monsters pounced on her mother and scratched open the delicate flesh of her neck with blood spouting on Amaya's face, the girl didn't even flinch. The monster harshly dropped Amaya's mother's head on the floor before slowly looking up at her, a disgusting grin revealing its pointed teeth.

It licked its lips as it crawled towards her, 6 arms being enough to hold the weight of its massive muscles. "Well, what do we have here? A little girl? And what? You're not crying? That's odd." Its voice sounded just as bad if not even worse than the screams from outside, making Amaya react as she slowly scooted back as her small body shook. The monster only laughed, slowly crawling closer and trampling all over her mother's body. Its greenish skin was aluminated by the moonlight peeking through the broken wood of her roof, making a shiver crawl up Amaya's spine. It tilted its head at her, its eyes wide from the kick of devouring humans.
