Chapter 22: Waves

Back to Remi's POV

Emerson had decided to go back to sleep so I rocked Rowyn back to sleep after having Emmett make two bottles, one for Rowyn, and one for Raedyn. I rocked them back to sleep then joined Emerson, we cuddled for a few hours just embracing each other. When we woke I had grabbed my stuff from the car and brought it upstairs to unpack. I sat in the walk in closet on the floor folding some things while placing other on a hanger.

Erin and Lane still don't know I'm back but I planned on telling them soon since they obviously live here. I finished packing and grabbed my cup filled with coffee that was set on the dresser near me taking a sip of it before Emerson walked in with both twins, one in each arm. They both had the biggest smiles on their faces and I reached out for Raedyn since I hadn't yet held him since being back.

I held him close to me grabbing my coffee and shutting the closet light off and closing the door with my foot. I went and sat down on the bed and played with Raedyn for a minute.

"So I'm thinking we should tell Erin and Lane in a minute...they're waking up and getting ready to go to the beach and i don't want to leave you here alone or anything." He sighed heavily, I could tell he was still a little nervous.

"Bring them in." I smiled and his eyes went big almost in disbelief. "Are you sure?" He remarked, I nodded giggling and he walked out of the room closing the door behind him, still holding Rowyn.

I thought about my mom for a second but I think I already got all my tears out about that situation if I'm being honest. Me and her weren't that close so I didn't feel as affected as I thought I would've been. I mean yeah it did make me sad to think about where I hadn't been that close to her.

Emmett knocked on the door following by him opening it and walking in letting Erin and Lane discover I'm back.

Wren was in disbelief I was really here and safe. She slowly creeped over to me and then threw me over on the bed in the biggest hug I'd gotten in along time. I squeezed her tightly happy she wasn't mad at me. "Remi please don't ever do that again." She ordered me as I heard her start crying.

She soon released her grip from me and stood back up walking back over to lane. Lane! I looked at him and he smiled, "Get that break you needed?" I was so glad he understood out of everyone. He's always been my favorite but just don't tell the other two or the twins that.

I chucked lightly "Sure did. Look I'm sorry guys I really did need that break. I couldn't keep them safe and they were better off with you guys who could keep them safe while I rested my mind." I tried to explain but they all cut me off by coming over and hugging me.

I shrieked as I watched Emmett wipe out on his board while out surfing with Lane and Erin, while I was on the beach playing in the sand with the twins. Rowyn decides she wants to be like Emerson and she tries to crawl towards the water.

I stand up picking Raedyn up and run towards Rowyn who's moving surprisingly fast for a baby. I swooped her up into my arms and went back to our spot under the umbrella, grabbing their double floaty to take them into the water. With full arms I sit down in the nice cool water, setting the twins in my lap and gently placing each one in the floaty one by one.

I walk into the water a little ways so I'm on my knees but they aren't hitting the bottom.

Emmett comes up behind me and kisses my cheek with his dripping wet hair dropping on me and out of breath before running to our spot in the sand to set his board down.

He comes running back and plays with Raedyn in the water carefully. I smile at how much of a truly amazing person he is. He looks over at me, "what you startin at huh?" I laugh at his question, "nothing." I quickly respond before standing up with Rowyn and walking back to our spot to dry off.

The sizzling of hamburger meat in the instantpot in front of me is all I hear till my music continues playing after just finishing a song. I lip sync along to the dance while I continue to make dinner.

I step back from the counter to go in the pantry and search for some seasoning we didn't have in th cupboard, I grab it and walk back to the stove still singing along to the song.

I stir the meat after seasoning and throw in the cooked pasta noodles that were just on the stove along with some sauces and more seasoning.

I stir it up one last time before calling it good and realizing it's done. Emmett was over on the couch watching TV with the twins playing on their play mat next to him.

I reached in the cupboard grabbing out 5 plates dishing up food on each and setting the table. Followed by me filling up cups with some ice and water from the fridge, setting them down next to the plates.

"Hey guys! Dinners ready come grab it!" I yelled out to everyone wherever they were in the house hoping they'd just hear it. Soon enough they all can running into the kitchen and sitting down by a plate of food, "Hey thanks rem!! This looks so good!" Lane told me and I told him he was welcome and thanks. Everyone else chimed in with thanking me here and there.

The babies were still on their play-mat in clear sight of us, I went into the pantry again searching for some baby food when I couldn't find it I still stood in the pantry and called out to Emmett for help, "Hey Emerson? Where's the baby food?"

"Very bottom shelf by the formula!" He hollered back, I bent down to look on the bottom shelf and low and behold there it was, I grabbed two jars of it. I walked out shutting the light off and closing the door.

I opened the silverware drawer and grabbed two baby spoons setting everything I had just grabbed on the counter as I pulled their high chairs next to where me and Erin sit so she can help me feed them.

I went into the living room and grabbed Raedyn first, setting him in his high chair and strapping him in, grabbing his food and spoon from the counter and gave them to Erin so she could start feeding him.

I then grabbed Rowyn and set her in her high chair and strapped her in grabbing her food from the counter to start feeding her.

I was back home and happy.

I'm thinking there will be 3 or 4 more chapters!! I'm so sad the book is coming to an end but don't worry because...well I can't tell you because it would ruin the suprise :)
