Chapter 12: Certifications

I look down Emerson who is down on one knee, "Will you marry me Remi?" Just then Rowyn starts crying, and I wake up from my dream to see that Erin and Lane are sitting on the couch sharing food and Emmett is asleep with his shirt off still holding Rowyn while Raedyn is being held by Lane.

"Good morning!" Erin spats, I nod and smile still super groggy from all of the medicine, in pain, and tired, not realizing I slept for almost 10 hours. Though I was going in and out of sleep from the doctors checking on me every hour, plus the 15 minutes it took to feed the babies every 5 hours. Emerson wakes up when he hears I'm awake, "Morning beautiful." He tells me, and I smile all goofy. "I think Raedyn needs to be fed, do you want to hand him to me lane?" I ask.

He stands up and hands him to me, and I start to un button the top of my hospital gown and Emmett got up, still holding Rowyn, he covered me up with a baby blanket so I wasn't 'exposed'. I looked up at him and cupped his face with my hand rubbing the side of his face with my thumb smiling. "You have some pretty amazing babies, you know that Remi?" Emerson stated, "Correction...we, have some pretty awesome babies." I said, correcting him, his eyes started to fill with water as he told me 'I love you' then sat back down rocking Rowyn.

A couple minutes pass and a doctor walks in, "So, how we feeling?" She asks, "Me or her?" Emerson remarked, we all erupted in laughter and I answered the doctors question, "I feel a lot better than before! I'll feel a lot better when I can be at home though." The doctor chuckled and told us that she understood that, "That's pretty much what all new moms say, we do need you to fill out the birth certificates for the twins, but we can have you fill them out tomorrow before you get discharged. Other than that if you need anything there's this remote, I'm not sure if the nurses went over this but just thought I should double check." She said smiling and walking out of the room, as we thanked her.

"I'm so hungry." I told the group, just as Raedyn finished eating. I sat him up normally and asked if Emerson would take him and he gladly did, reading twins, he stayed by me until I started to feed Rowyn which he again covered me with a baby blanket. "Do you want us to run out and get some food?" Lane asked, "That would be amazing!" I replied, throwing my head back on the pillow, Lane laughed and grabbed Erin's hand leaving to go get us some real food.

When I finished feeding Rowyn I moved over a bit so Emmett could come lay down with me, "Will you come lay with me?" He smiles and stands up gently cradling Rowyn as he lays down next to me. "Your the one for me Remi, and I swear on everything I will keep these- our...babies safe." My heart... glows at those words, It's an indescribable feeling like you get so happy about something you want to squeal and jump up and down in excitement, that's how I feel.

"Do you realize how much we've been through, And how you've been there for all of it?" I ask him, leaning towards him for a kiss, and he gently connects our lips together, smiling through the kiss. "I will always be there for you, through the thick and the thin." He replies, looking down at the babies, caressing their little heads. "You are going to be an amazing dad, I can feel it." I state to him, at those words he leans down and kisses my forehead. I lay my head down on his chest and we lay the babies together in between us, Raedyn starts to cry and I sit up to rock him, humming the melody I hummed earlier.

As I'm rocking him back to sleep Erin and Lane knock on the door and come in with food, "Oh my goodness you guys are the best!" I tell them, reaching out for my food. They hand me my food after rummaging through the bag for my food, then handing Emerson his food. Erin comes over by me and takes Raedyn from my arms so I can eat, and Lane does the same with Rowyn, they both manage to rock the twins to sleep, then place them in their bassinets as me and Emmett devour our food, starving from not eating since the twins were born.

When we finish our food we take the garbage and place it in the bag, then throw it away. By this time It's already 6 o'clock, so Emerson decides to get changed into some sweats and a hoodie, while I change the twins into a onesie and swaddle them to feed them, and once again Emmett covers me up once I start to feed the twins.
