2 years later
It currently is 1 hour till New Years and we have had so much fun already! Emerson and Erin have been speaking privately all night which's been kinda weird but they've been best friends for how many years now, so I'm not too worried.
Rowyn had just fallen asleep in my arms as Raedyn was sitting at his table in their room drawing a picture for me, "look mama." He told me as held up the drawing, I smiled at his cute little personality.
"It looks awesome buddy." He smiled back to my answer and put it in his little cubby full of drawings, then got ready for bed himself. I smiled to myself as I watched him in his own little world being all independent, he climbed into his bed and got under his blankets.
I stood up cautious not to wake Rowyn and gently placed her in her bed. I covered her up and kissed her forehead softly, I walked over to Raedyn who was trying to fall asleep, and I kissed him on the forehead like I just did with Rowyn. I walked towards the door to shut the lights off when he whispered, "love you mama." I smiled and whispered back, "I love you too baby, sleep good." He hummed and I walked out shutting the door.
I walked down the stairs to find only my dad Laura (Erin's mom) and Lane sitting on the couch talking about who knows what. As for Emerson and Erin I had no clue where they were.
I made my way to the kitchen for a glass of wine, wine. That makes me sound old. When I didn't find any in the fridge I went towards the pantry, found it, I muttered to myself as I walked forward into the pantry more to reach the bottle but before I could grab it I heard faint talking coming from the back room.
I stepped out and walked to the other room finding Emerson and Erin siting knee to knee face to face. My heart sunk as I listened to the words fall from his mouth, "Marry me and slow dance with me in our bedroom with an unmade bed ad candles on the nightstand. Let me love you forever. Marry me."
I had told him about slater a couple months after I had gotten back, he was pissed to say the least.
-flashback-
"So when I left...Ace from high school ran into me and he offered to help me. I went and stayed with him, I met one of his friends slater. He was sweet and we dated for a minute but I found out he cheated and thats what pushed me over the edge to come back home. I wanted to come home before that but I had a lot there and I didn't want to leave just yet but I knew then that that life wasn't for me. I'm sorry. I love you so so much!" I told him out of breathe from all of the words that just overflowed from my mouth.
He was hesitant to say anything, so he just got up and packed a small bag, I thought he was packing my stuff at first, "I don't want to leave you again." I told him with tears starting to fall.
"No Remi. Your not leaving. But I am." He told me and that was the last I heard of him for a week straight.
It killed me inside being alone but now I felt what he felt, numb.
-end of flashback-
"Glad to know I'm important to you." I said sounded hurt and tears threatening to spill. They both instantly looked towards me but I exited the room ready to walk right out and leave, "Remi wait please, it's not what it looks like I swear." Emmett called out to me as he blocked me from walking out of the front door.
"Woah woah what's happening??" Lane asked concerned, "Nothing really just that Emerson proposed to Erin."
"Woah what?! Erin!! Emerson!!" Lane shouted towards the two, "No it's not like that I swear!! Just listen to me please!" He begged me to listen, as much as I didn't want to I had no choice since I was cornered by Erin and Emmett, "ok. I'm listening."
He got down on one knee and reached for something in his pocket, I felt horrible knowing what he was actually about to do.
"Remi, marry me. Let's spend our week nights eating cereal on the floor when there is a perfectly good table behind us. We can go to the movies and sit in the back row just to make out like kids falling in love for the first time. Marry me. We'll paint the rooms of our house and get more paint on us instead of the walls. We can hold hands and go to parties that we'll end up ditching to go drink wine from the bottle in our bathtub. Marry me and slow dance with me in our bedroom with an unmade bed and candles on the nightstand. Let me love you forever. Marry me Rem."
He opened the ring box to reveal the most gorgeous diamond ring ever, my dream ring. "Yes! Yes!" He got up from his knee and placed the ring on my left ring finger as I pulled him into a kiss.
"Ew! Mama and dada are kissing! Blah!" I heard Rowyn and Raedyn coo at us from the top of the stairs. We all laughed at their antics and told them to go back to bed.

"10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!" We all yelled out as we watched the New York's ball drop. I pulled Emerson into a kiss along with Erin and Lane kissing each other, what surprised me was when I pulled away from the kiss I saw my dad and laura kissing.
It made me happy to see him like this, getting back to dating. It's been hard on him and laura would be perfect for him! I didn't try to stop them or anything I just let them do their thing.
