Chaoter 18: Sun tan

It's been a couple weeks since I've been here in Cali, Slater has been growing on me and we've been really connecting. Ace and I are practically like brother and sister at this point, while Nolan and chase are also my protectors. They make sure nothing bad happens to me, and I'm basically hanging out with them all of the time.

It's nearly 10 A.M. when I'm in my bathroom brushing my teeth to get ready for the day, and Slater is still asleep in my bed when my phone goes off. I rinse my mouth of toothpaste and place my toothbrush in it's holder to check and see it's a message from Ace.

Ace: Hey rem, me and the boys are going out on my boat today wanna come?

Me: ya! That sounds like fun! I have to get sleepy head up first.

Ace: have fun with that!

I chuckled at his text as I walked back into the bedroom just wearing my silky robe, tossing my phone on my bed, picking out and outfit for today. I decided on some ripped denim shorts and a flowy crop top along with a cute swimming suit.

I got dressed and walked back out to see that Slater was still asleep. I crawled back into bed laying next to him, "Hey sleepy head. Wake up." He groaned not wanting to get up.

I gave in and demanded, "Alright if you don't get out of bed right now I won't cuddle you tonight, you'll be sleeping at your own house." He instantly propped himself up super tired but alert. I laughed at his eagerness, "Well good morning!" He rolled his eyes as he got out of bed to get dressed.

I stood up and decided on making the bed since I couldn't stand it being messy.

It was a very calm day on the water, the sun was beating down on me as I lay on the bow of the boat on a towel soaking up the sun. The boys were somewhere in the huge boat, hang around rich kids you start to love being one. Ok love is a strong word...but it's pretty nice!!

I had enough of the sun so I stood up and rolled my towel up into a ball and made my way to the deck where the boys were sitting talking about the latest football game update, "No man because I'm actually going to be pissed if they win." I smiled at their antics of arguing over a sport where you just throw a stupid ball a certain amount of feet.

I never really was taught the rules of football so I didn't understand it as much. I noticed when I turned to walk to the lower deck the boys stopped me, "Hey wait!! You can't go down there!" Realizing Slater was missing from the pack I grew concerned.

"Why not exactly?" I pushed.

"Uhh, because, um. You just can't!" Nolan responded.

I rolled my eyes and layed down on the couch inside the boat closing my eyes hoping to fall asleep. I did not want to be bothered at this point which is why I was lucky that none of them really cared about what I had to say for the most part. At least right now, any other day they'd be all ears.

I tried to fall asleep but I couldn't, worried about what Slater was up to. I got up and threw on one of the boys hoodies not really caring who's it was. I walked back out to notice all of the boys were actually here now, "Hey is that my hoodie?" Chase questioned me.

"Ya. Does it look like I care?" I snarled back.

"Oo someone's feeling feisty today." One of them commented.

I rolled my eyes and scowled, "can I go downstairs now? I'm starving."

They all looked at each other, then to slater who nodded to which they all turned back and nodded. I gave them a weird look as they all followed me down to the lower deck.

"Ok you guys are acting super weird."

"What? Us?! Never!"

"Ya no! We're not acting super weird right guys?"

"Right! We're fine!"

"Ya! Ya! Perfectly normal!"

The all smiled at me as I reached the kitchen looking out the back of the boat to see a blanket with snacks layed out, I looked towards Slater who held his hand out for me and pulled me into a hug.

"Did you do all of this for me?" I questioned not believing he would do of such. He smiled and nodded, I rolled up on my feet placing a gentle kiss on his lips smiling even more.

"But...there's something I have to ask you." His face faltered. The concern came rushing back to me like a tsunami.

"Oh please tell me your not doing this to say you don't like me, I know how stupid you boys are." They all giggled at me response.

"No I- I'm not, really sure of umm...how to do this."

"How to do what?" I voiced my concern.

He slowly started, "asked someone to be my girlfriend."

The biggest smile rushed over my face, my cheeks filled with pink from blushing, and I wrapped my arms around his neck and wrap my legs around his waist, "is that a yes?" He laughs I'm between words.

"What do you think?" I question as I lean down and kiss him passionately.

The guys around us are clapping and cheering us on, I can't help but smile at how adorable and kind Slater is.

We had spent the next few hours on the boat before Slater informed me he would be taking me to go hangout with his little sister. Apparently she has been dying to meet me, which I thought was sweet.

She was super nice and had thee bubbly personality, her smile and laugh are super contagious and she kept telling me how badly she wanted an older sister but never got one. I smiled continuously as she told me all the embarrassing stories of Slater when they were younger.

"And then he did the splits and I swear to you his pants ripped in front of the whole school!!" I couldn't contain my laughter. "Ok Hazel that's enough."

"Awe cmon bro I was just I warmed up!"

"Ya cmon bro!" I chimed in earning a smile and an eye roll, high fiving Hazel.

"Look I got some errands to run but I'll be back in an hour ok? Love you sis." He stated as he told us bye and gave me a gentle kiss.

"So. You like my brother?" Hazel interrogated me.
