Levi's POV

After an intense meeting with my uncle, I drove myself to Erwin's house. In the past week, Uncle Kenny has been preparing me to take over the family business... even though I don't want to. I want someone else to take over... I don't want to be dragged through the family business. But I have no choice. He rather I learn the family business compared to learning how to drive.

But finally, I got my license. Now, I wouldn't hear Erwin's teasing whenever he drops me off to places. And I can get away from personal drivers that drove me everywhere. It's nice whenever there's no one to pick me up, but I hate how it shows to people. It's just telling other people that I'm too rich and I'm showing off. I'm not. I hate it.

"How's the drive?" Erwin jokes as I parked in front of his house. "Not bad for a month of practicing. Although, it makes me question why you did that-."

"Let's not talk about it."

"You sound a bit grumpy... did something happen?" I didn't answer him, and he finally read my mind like a witch. "Something with your uncle? Nothing ticks you off than him. Come on- let's play some chess."

"No video games?"

"I think it's better to talk over chess than some video game. Let's go. Oh, and my mom made some brownies. Remember which ones they were? It's the ones that are all gooey inside."

"The ones that get all over your fingers?"

Erwin chuckles softly, "Well, maybe after we're done, we can make regular brownies- just for you."

"I'm joking. Your parents are nice... it would've been nicer if my uncle gave me the same treatment..."

I followed Erwin inside of his house, immediately being greeted by his dad. They somewhat treat me as their son... but sometimes, I don't know if it's because they know my family well and don't want to be rude to me. Either that or they do care about me. Reminds me of Hanji's mom... how nice she was to me.

"Levi, do you have Hanji's phone number?"

"That's... out of the blue. Why?"

He quickly makes his move on the chessboard, leaning back in his chair. "Well... she hasn't been going to the student council meetings... as well as her not going to her science clubs. I wish I could talk to her, but I don't have her number. Marie won't give me her phone number either."

"How did you contact her before?"

"Marie. Now, Marie's not talking about what's going on with her. She's keeping her lips sealed. Do you know what's going on with her?"

I shook my head, "No, I don't. If she's not at school-."

"Not that, Levi. She's still being marked as here, but she's just not going to any after-school activities. I don't know what's going on, so I wanted to know if you knew anything. After all, someone has a little crush on her..." Erwin chuckles as he quickly checkmates me. "Anyways, let's take a break. We've been playing for an hour."
