Levi's POV
Returning to school, I wasn't surprised to hear that both my name and Hanji's were plastered everywhere. I knew what my uncle did as the CEO was wrong, but I got too scared. But with Hanji by my side... I'm sure she'll help me fix the entire thing. Nothing goes wrong with her around.
"Levi!"
I turned around, seeing Hanji trying to stop Moblit from stomping towards me. "W-Wait, Moblit!" She cries. "Just wait a minute!"
"Hanji, please get out of my way," Moblit says softly to her, but his anger came back when his eyes laid on me. "You!" Before I could react, I felt him grab my shirt, pushing my back against the metal lockers. "You think you can just hide within our school as you inherited a corporation that does bad deeds?! And you think you can drag Hanji into it?! It broke my heart to let her be with you because I thought she'll be happier with you! But no, you decide that it's best to corrupt her!"
Hanji tries to push herself between the two of us as people stared. "Moblit, you're acting like a child-."
"Am I, Hanji?! I'm not going to let some rich, selfish, entitled brat corrupt your mind! I shouldn't have broken up with you, Hanji... I blame myself... I'm so sorry, Hanji... but if he's just going to corrupt you... I'm not going to let it happen."
"I... I don't want to follow the previous... CEO's footsteps..." I managed out, scowling as I didn't want to hurt him. I know I could fight him off in a few minutes, but I didn't want to hurt him. Not when Hanji's here. She believes I'm a good person... I'm not going to ruin it for her... "I... I didn't want to do anything... Hanji... she said she would help-."
"Help what?!"
"Help fix it... the corporation... if it's going to change... Hanji's going to help..."
"Moblit put him down!" Hanji then pushes him down, not noticing her glasses were knocked off. "Enough... Levi is nothing like the current CEO. I don't know what you're mad at. I know it's not just because of that." Hanji quiets down as she continued, "Is it because you don't like the idea that I'm going to marry him after I turn 18?"
Moblit stays silent after she utters those last words.
"Do not blame Levi for that." She says it so sternly, so motherly... "If you were there at the gala where they announced it, Moblit, you would know that it was never Levi's fault. I rather marry him than let some stranger do so. And if you didn't want me to be married off to someone that I loved, you should never have broken up with me. If it wasn't for that, then I might still be with you and Levi would be married to someone else."
With his eyes starting to drift off to a different area, I sighed and fixed myself. "Hanji is going to help me fix everything that my uncle did. At first... I didn't want to do anything... I didn't want this burden... but with her... I promise to fix everything... I promise..."
Our eyes met, and we smiled softly.
I was jealous of him before... having a wonderful girlfriend by the name, 'Hanji,' was something I envied. Now, he's jealous of me... jealous that I'm marrying the person he loved. Why did he break up with her? Because she was happy just being near me? Was it right to force Hanji into this arranged marriage? Of course, I would be married to someone else... but at least she would have some sort of freedom rather than having no choice...
