Chapter 7 - Me, You And Some Bottles of Wine

Kara landed softly on Lena's penthouse balcony and for a few seconds held Lena in her arms, until she gently lifted her to her feet.

"Don't you want to come in?"

"I really, really wanted to... but I need to go to the DEO to assure myself with Alex that your brother will never go out to harm anyone, least of all you."

"Are you sure?" Lena was very close to Kara, and lightly touched her lips to the blonde's neck, making her shiver.

"Lena, don't do this to me... it's not fair..." Kara smiled appreciating that gentle affection from Lena."I really need to go there, I won't be calm until I see what Alex did to make sure Lex is definitely locked up."

"Okay, I understand you... after everything you've been through, I can't even say that I would do it differently myself. But I'll only let you go if you promise to come to dinner with me tomorrow, just you and me."

"I promise. Nothing would make me happier."

"Can I send the driver to pick you up at 8pm?"

"I appreciate your offer, but I have a quicker way to get here." Kara winked at Lena and smiled, seeing another smile in response.

Lena really liked it when Kara smiled, she smiled with her eyes, she was the most adorable face in the world for Lena. That girl's face that smiled so beautiful with her eyes narrowed... those eyes, as blue as the summer sky, eyes that looked more like 2 entire glowing galaxies looking at her, seeing into her soul, making her tremble. Kara, too, was now lost within Lena's large green eyes. Another green that affected her. The green of the kryptonite weakened her, but the green of Lena's eyes left her paralyzed, speechless, not knowing how to breathe... but it filled her with life.

Just a call from Alex on the communicator in Kara's ear snapped them out of that dazed, almost hypnotic state.

"Kara, was everything good with Lena?"

"Hi, Alex... yes, it was fine."

"I can tell by the tone of your voice... I'd even say you're smiling right now. Are you still at L-Corp? Are you still coming to the DEO?"

"I will. I just came to bring Lena home."

"Well, well... it means you're still with her."

"Yeah, she's right here in front of me now."

"Alex, stop bothering me, okay?" Lena said jokingly, hoping Alex would hear her.

Alex, chuckling over the communicator, made it clear that she had heard what Lena had just said very well.

"Okay, let Miss Luthor know that I apologize for interrupting. I'll wait for you here, okay?"

"Okay, I'll be right away. And Alex..."

"Yea?"

"I love you, have I told you that today?"

"I love you too, baby sis. I'm waiting for you."

Alex hung up and Kara turned her full attention back to Lena.

"So, I really need to go... and I think if I don't go now, I don't know if I'll be able to get out of here."

"I would like that."

Kara giggled shyly, her cheeks getting rosy.

"I promise that tomorrow there will be nothing to divide my attention."

"I hope so, otherwise Alex will have to deal with me."

They both laughed and Lena took Kara's face in her hands, bringing her closer to her, bringing her lips to hers. Each kiss on the blonde's lips felt even better than the last for Lena.
