Greetings, readers.
I wrote most of this book at around 16 years old and... Was not doing great. A lot of it I rewrote when I was 18. Yes, there is a fair amount of drinking. There's a large age gap as well.
It's still a pretty goddamn good book with some awesome characters. (Tortured artists are always the best ones, do you even know about Stephen King? Edgar Allen Poe? Hemingway?) I won't take it down, there's plenty of people that love this story, but it's not for everyone. (IT'S A DARK ROMANCE!) Hell, I really love reading it. Every so often I'll go back and alter things I feel like are in bad taste.
So if you read something a little borderline, I know. I do.
Moral of the story, get sober, go to therapy, this book is great even if it occasionally can cross a line. (For my true baddies in the audience, this won't even make you bat an eyelash.)
Peace,
-Marie
Dedicated to Benson R, who lost his battle with depression in November 2021. A fellow hopeless romantic who deserved a love story of his own.
I got a second chance, and you deserve one too.
