So gorgeous. Cade muses, his thumb entertaining itself at her bottom lip.
The sun is trying desperately to pull itself over the horizon. The curtains flutter with the Hawaiian breeze.
Evie woke up about an hour ago, crying and shaking in terror. Cade easily lulled her back to unconsciousness. Her eyes are still red-rimmed from the incident. He'll continue to watch over her. He's already gotten in two more hours than he usually does for a grand total of six.
The gentle wind stirs her golden curls.
She's a Rembrandt. A Michelangelo. A Da Vinci. She's the Starry Night. Every time he looks there's another beautiful detail he was so unfortunate to miss. Another light against the dark, another brush stroke that differs elegantly from its neighbor. He may be the one with ink embedded into his skin, but he wasn't made by a master artist. She was.
Her green irises flash open at him. "Hi, bad boy." She hums sleepily, stretching in his hold and curling back up into his chest.
"Hi good girl." Cade grins. "You sleep well?" He murmurs, pulling at her silky, golden curls.
"Did you sleep at all?" She throws back at him.
"Six hours or so." He shrugs. "Better."
She giggles in excitement, hugging him. "It's longer than in the past two weeks!"
"Yeah... I was pretty exhausted." He responds.
"I'm proud of you." She beams widely at him.
"You're proud of me for sleeping?" He asks, rubbing his palms up and down her sides.
"Yup." She chirps. "It's an accomplishment."
"One that deserves a prize?" He asks, trailing her sweatshirt up her belly.
"Um..." Evie's voice goes strained and she pulls her sweatshirt down. "I... I know you've been patient."
"Please? I have been very patient, baby." He trails kisses down from her ear. "When have I ever hurt you?" He asks, "we won't go all the way. I just want to taste you." He purrs near her ear. "You'll be on top, writhing in pleasure." He adds, knowing that she loves dirty talk. "I want to see your gorgeous body naked and sprawled out before me, your lips begging for release. C'mon baby, please."
Evie hesitantly shakes her head no. She tries not to let in a barrage of feelings and pain flood in from all those nights ago.
Cade bites his lip, knowing he's got her on edge. "This isn't for me, however much I want to do it." He continues.
"No, dammit!" She finally finds enough of her lust hazed brain to shove and kick him off, managing to knee him forcefully in the crotch by accident. He curls up on one side of the bed, groaning.
"Oh, my god, I'm so sorry." She laments, grabbing his bicep. "I totally didn't mean to do that. I'm so sorry." She tries to keep back the giggle that bubbles in her throat.
He gives her the finger.
"Cade, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to I swear." She tries so hard to keep a straight face.
"Bitch." He mutters. "Fine. No sex for Cade."
"No," she laughs this time. "No sex for poor Cade."
He groans once more. "I wanna puke."
"I'm honestly so sorry." She repeats for the fifty-millionth time.
"Then why are you grinning!?" He snaps.
"Because I'm not all that sorry." She giggles. "You kinda deserved it. You know the dirty talk is my weakness. I'm just not ready."
He gives her the middle finger again.
