"It looks like you owe me some money, little girl." Snap shrank back against the brick wall, her fear winning the battle over her pride. The cool metal of the barrel of the gun was starting to press to hard into her temple, and she knew that if she survived this, there would be a big old bruise there.

She couldn't remember why she had been outside at night, or how she came to be pressed against the wall in the alley. All she could see was the man directly in front of her, shoving her against the wall and holding the gun to her head.

"Please let me go." She whimpered, squeezing her eyes shut, shaking. She hadn't expected all of this to come so far. She thought they would forget. She realized too late that people don't forget debts in America.

"Right after you give us our money, sweetheart." The voice chuckled next to her ear, and she shuddered. Her mind was racing, trying to figure a way out of this. She knew how easy it would be to hit him in between the legs, but she was completely frozen, her body not listening to her mind.

"I don't have any money." She squeaked and opened her eyes, and he shook his head. He looked over his shoulder, and Snap groaned when she saw the other man behind him. She blinked, and by the time she opened her eyes again, she was smashed face first against the wall. Tears began to fall down her cheeks and she bit back the sobs that accompanied them.

"What did you say?" The man whispered.

"I have no money." She choked, and she felt the blinding pain as a knife slashed across her back.

"Don't lie, sweetheart. We know you're rich. Where is it?" He sounded impatient.

"I told you! I don't have any money!" She felt it again, this time crying out.

"I'll ask you one more time." She shook her head and the knife came down again. The wall in front of her slipped away as she fell to the ground, the blood from her back puddling around her.

She felt a kick to her back before finally losing consciousness.
