"I remember telling you that if you ever called me that again, your pretty face wasn't going to stay so pretty. Watch your fucking back, kid." Spot's hand twitched toward the cane hanging from his belt, and everyone in the room was looking at Snap. Most of them looked scared, and Spot looked livid, but Snap just chuckled.
"That's cute, Conlon. Good luck with that. And I wouldn't be worried about my pretty face. You should be worried about yours. That's a nice shiner- who gave it to you?" She giggled, and bowed slightly.
"Snap." Eleanor hissed and tugged on her arm. "You have to quit before he kills you."
"Elle's right, little girl. I'm about two seconds away from beating you senseless." Spot warned.
"Do it. I honestly don't care. Worse has happened to me." Snap shrugged with a smirk.
'Spot, why don't you and Bullet take a seat, and maybe we can talk about this and sort this all out." David suggested, then realized the only two chairs left were the one next to Snap, and the one next to Eleanor. He didn't exactly want Spot sitting next to either of them.
Spot grimaced for a minute before grinning wickedly. "That's a great idea, Dave." Spot threw himself into the chair next to Snap, flinging his arm around her shoulder. His fingers dug into her shoulder as he pulled her closer so he could whisper. "We have unfinished business." She shook her head, and pried his hand from her shoulder. Ouch, there were going to be bruises. Bullet sat himself next to Spot, giving the two of them apprehensive looks.
"And that's how it's going to stay. I don't want to talk about it." Snap glared at him, and he laughed quietly.
"Okay, you two. Why the hell do you hate each other so much?" Jack asked, leaning forward on the table.
"Because she has a big mouth and doesn't know when to shut up. And she has no respect for authority." Spot argued.
"I'll respect him when he respects me." Snap crossed her arms.
"That aint exactly how it works, Snap." Race said.
"It isn't? That's too bad, because that's how I'm playing it." Snap said defiantly.
"This is why I don't like her!" Spot sighed, throwing his hands up.
"Punk." Snap mumbled under her breath, along with a few other choice swear words. No one but Spot could hear her, and he growled, standing up and grabbing her collar, painfully pulling her to standing.
"Oh, shit, Spotty-poo's angry." Snap smiled, and Spot pulled one hand away from her collar and slapped her across the face.
"I'm so fucking done with you." He breathed in a low voice, his hands shaking from his anger.
"Spot! Calm down!" Jack stood up, ready to intervene, but before he could do anything, Snap had brought her knee up and kneed Spot downstairs. He fell to the ground, letting go of her collar. She descended upon him ,throwing a few good punches before Race wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her off of him.
Spot stood up, looking embarrased and on a whole new level of fury. "Race, let go of her."
Race hesitantly let go, and Spot sped forward, bringing his fist into her stomach repeatedly. She tried to push him back, but Spot was in a trance. Jack had finally had enough when he stepped in between them, one hand on Spot's chest and the other on Snap's shoulder.
"I'll kill you. You are dead, Conlon. Do you understand me? Totally and completely dead." There were tears streaming down her cheeks, and she was clutching her stomach. It had to hurt.
"I'm ready for it, princess." Spot smirked, and Snap really just wanted another chance to beat the shit out of him.
'Will you two shut up and kiss already?" Jack rolled his eyes.
"Already did that." Spot winked and Snap snorted.
"You didn't exactly tell me the whole story, Snap!" Elle had a horrified look on her face, both from the fighting and the fact that Snap and Spot had kissed.
"Don't want to talk about bad memories." Snap smiled sweetly.
"Come on, sweetheart." Spot winked at her, and when Jack left his post between them, Spot took a step closer to her.
"I can't believe you! You're as moody as a teenage girl! First you were angry with me, and then you were all concerned, and then you were just plain annoying...And then you kissed me, for God's sake! Then, just now you were livid, and I don't even know why! I didn't say anything that horrible to you! Now, you're being all smug, again! Make up your mind, Conlon!" Snap crossed her arms, and Spot opened his mouth to say something, no sound coming out.
" I hate to say it...but she's right, Spot." Bullet mumbled, and Spot glared at him.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you like her." Race said.
"Maybe I do."
