"and why would i trust you?" i challenged, "after what you just did to me?"

"i'm sorry about that. i don't know what came over me." he apologized.

i was shocked. HE was apologizing. DRACO had apologized to ME.

"wow! draco malfoy apologizing to me?! i can't believe it!" i exclaimed.

he rolled his eyes, "don't make me regret it, diggory."

"just because you've apologized doesn't mean you're off the hook, draco. i still don't want to go around doing god-know's-what with you!"

"what do you have to lose, ivy?" he asked, moving closer to me and studying me, "you're bored. i can tell."

he was right. i was bored. i didn't want to sit at the party and do nothing for the next three hours. so like a complete idiot, i agreed to his proposition.

"so what do you plan on doing, malfoy?" i asked as we walked down the hall.

"i know how to get into the kitchens. i could use something to eat."

we went down a staircase, near the hufflepuff basement and right under the great hall. we ended up in a broad stone basement corridor decorated with food-themed paintings.

"tickle the pear." draco whispered to me.

"w— what?" i stuttered as dirty thoughts flooded my mind.

"if you tickle the pear on that painting, it'll turn into a door handle, leading to the kitchens–"

"o— oh." i embarrassingly said.

i did as he said and a large, green door handle appeared. he opened the door and there we were— in one of the kitchens.

"let's make something..." he told me, smirking.

"what?" i questioned, "a cake or something?"

he walked over to me and stared down at me intensely. all of my attention was on him.

"i was thinking we could make something else..."

"what?" i asked, nervously.

i felt my cheeks turn hot.

"pancakes." he responded.

"you want to make pancakes... with me?" i asked.

i just couldn't understand why draco was suddenly being so nice to me. he was so strange.

"of course i do, love." he smiled.

"i said don't call me that."

"i know you like it." he flirted and turned away, to go get some flour.

it was as if there was a chemistry between us as we made the pancakes. i could sense there was a tension. and it felt like a sexual tension. i told myself that i hated it.

i watched him flip a pancake and leaned over the other side of the counter. i felt his eyes on my body.

he sauntered over to me, getting behind me.

"ivy..." he uttered, breathing over my neck.

"what?" i whispered back.

his cold fingers touched my shoulder, "what are you doing to me?"

his hand traveled down my arm and wrapped itself around my waist. as much as i abhorred him, i wanted his body on top of mine. i imagined him throwing me on the counter and ripping off my dress. i wanted his lips on my body. i could sense he wanted that too. but i knew it was wrong.

so i pulled away and laughed nervously, "i bet that pancake is ready."

"oh, yeah..." he awkwardly said.

once the pancakes were done, i took some for myself to eat later and began to leave to my common room.

"where are you going, diggory?" he asked me.

i turned back, "to my common room."

"with all of the first years?" he scoffed.

"i really should go, draco," i said, "i'm tired."

"is this about me reading from your diary?" he inquired, "i told you, i'm sorry."

"it's not about that." i informed him.

"then what is it about?" he asked.

i walked over to him, "are we not gonna talk about what just happened between us?"

"what?"

i groaned, "don't play dumb, malfoy! you put your hand around my waist. what the fuck was that?"

"i take it you didn't like it then?"

i walked even closer to him and muttered, "this—we cannot happen."

he just stared at me, blank-faced. i couldn't read his emotions.

then he smirked and asked, "and why's that, ivy?"

"let me break it down for you—" i paused, "i don't like you, draco. you've fucked up a lot in my life. and you know that. i can't–"

"i apologized to your sister." he revealed.

"y— you did?"

"yes," he told me, "i did."

as shocked as i was, i knew damn well i couldn't just hook up with draco right there and then because he apologized to my sister. i was afraid. i was afraid it would turn into more than just a one-night stand.

"i better get going," i responded, "i'll see you tomorrow."

"goodnight." he told me.

"goodnight." i said back, heading to the gryffindor tower.
