I am so sorry this is a day late, I thought I published it last night! Will not happen again.

Yay! Learning has officially reached 100 reads! The first proper milestone! For those of you who have read my other stories may think that this has come quite late but that's probably because if the very regular daily updates that don't give a lot of time for readers in between. Nevertheless, thank you to all the people who have read this story so far and will continue to read it. Now, on with the story!

Ahsoka returned home from her cliff side romance scene with Lux with a giddy smile on her face. The way he had kissed her had made her feel warm and fuzzy inside as well as her brain and legs to turn to mush. She was very surprised with herself yet proud that she managed to cycle home without any assistance. Ahsoka also felt rather like she was looking at someone else's life as she never thought romance would be a thing she was interested in. "Mum! I'm back! How was your day?" Ahsoka loudly announced her entrance to an empty house. She didn't worry as they teenage girl spied the note next to the key bowl and read it aloud to herself. "Gone to city hall to organise Mr Sharn details. Be home late. Food in fridge." Ahsoka nodded to herself at the acceptable answer she went upstairs to get changed.

Later, Ahsoka had changed into her pajamas and was eating microwaved pizza on the couch. She enjoyed it when Ashla left her to her own devices however she hoped her mum was okay. Beside her, her phone buzzed with an incoming phone call. "Hi Mum, how are you?" Ahsoka could hear a lot of background chatter and noise which she knew would stress Ashla.

Just as she predicted, her mum sounded high-pitched and stressed. "Oh hello Ahsoka, I'm alright. Well it's quite noisy and busy here however I have an official document of Mr Sharn's will that gives us complete access it his stock. So that's good. I'll be home soon however you young lady should probably be in bed. Love you." Ashla kissed her over the phone and Ahsoka laughed.

"I love you too Mum." Then the phone call ended and Ahsoka decided to do as she said. Washing the plate up in the sink, she went to bed with a smile on her face, smiling happily that her mum seemed to be getting back in control.

Wheeeeeewoooo... Wheeeeeewoooo. Wheeeewoo!

The echoey sounds of sirens pulled Ahsoka out of sleep and into reality. The wall behind and to the sides of her curtains were lit up red and blue while loud voices could be heard outside. Checking the time, Ahsoka saw that it was quarter to midnight. Ashla had called her at half nine. A loud knocking on the front door vibrated throughout the house and Ahsoka felt filled with this indescribable fear. Something was wrong, very wrong, she could sense it.

Hurriedly making her way downstairs, Ahsoka pulled her pajamas closer around her and turned on the lights. Seeing through the peephole, Ahsoka saw two officers standing outside, one about to ring the doorbell. Carefully opening the door, she looked at them. "Hello Officers, can I help you?" The serious expressions they shared only filled Ahsoka with more dread.

The first officer was a man with a kind smile while the other was another man with a grave expression. "Are you Ahsoka Tano, daughter of Ashla Tano?" The first man asked, Ahsoka nodded. "Okay, we're Officers Rex and Cody and I'm afraid we have some bad news. May we come in?" Ahsoka nodded numbly, stepping back to allow them in. "You may want to sit down dear, this won't be good." The pair directed her to the couch and patted her on the back.

Officer Cody cleared his throat then and looked gravely at her. "We're afraid that there has been an accident. Your Mother was driving home tonight when she crashed with a speeding lorry. The impact-" He was going to say 'Killed her instantly' but Rex roughly nudged and gave him a look to shut him up.

Ahsoka opened and closed her mouth a few times before the reality of what they said filtered down to her heart. Ahsoka's eyes filled with tears as the two officers looked on, miserable and uncomfortable. Her mum, a beloved woman who raised her from birth, for all her flaws and broken promises, was dead. Because of some idiot who thought they were above the consequences of their actions. Because of them, Ashla Tano was dead. "What... I don't... NO! ¡No, mi mamá no puede estar muerta! ¡No es cierto! ¡Tu mientes!" She sunk to her knees, still sobbing into the furniture around her. The furniture that they were planning on replacing with the money they got from his will.

Officer Rex motioned for Cody to fetch her a drink or something from the kitchen. "I'm sorry kid, this shouldn't happen. We are holding the driver in custody but right now he is in hospital, being treated for his injuries." Cody returned with a glass of hit chocolate as they helped her to sit up again. Ahsoka continued to cry but silently now as she gratefully took the beverage. "Do you have any other family to live with? Where's your Dad, is he around?" Ahsoka remained silent for a moment as she considered her answer.

Her mum was gone so all she had left was her dad but that would mean moving in with his new family. They would be kind to her at first, give her time to grieve, maybe Hosin would she'd a few years as well. Help her with the funeral and say goodbye to Ashla. Afterwards though, life would continue, the twins would grow up and Ahsoka would be pushed to the side. Yaz would get annoyed by the constant presence of her dear hubby's old life. It just wasn't worth it.

"No, he left ages ago. I don't know where he is." That much was true, she hoped they wouldn't press upon her to find him and live with him.

The two officers shared a look before Cody spoke up. "Would finding your Dad cause great disruption? To your life and his? Do you know if he is even in this country?" He asked her gently.

Ahsoka knew Hosin was in this country but didn't say so. There would be a lot of disruption to both their lives. "I think it would cause a great deal of disruption however he is in this country. He has another life now though, I would rather not go to live with him." She looked hopefully up at then and saw them start to relent.

Rex sighed. "Well, you're a minor so you can't stay here by yourself. Do you have any grandparents or any other extended family?" Ahsoka shook her head. "I guess that means we put you into care, if you're so against living with your Dad." The officers didn't know what the relationship was like between them, they didn't want to put her in a situation where she would be in danger.

Ahsoka's eyes widened as a new fear grew on top of her grief. "No! NO! You can't make me go back there! I refuse! I'll live on the streets! I'll be dead before I ever go into care again!" She ran away from the officers and up to her room where she remained all night, crying herself to sleep.

Eventually Officers Rex and Cody had to leave but they left a note under her door to say that some people would be coming over to see her in the morning. They had also left their contact details should she need them. Something about that kid was special to them and both of them agreed that they should keep an eye on her.

When Ahsoka next woke up, it was seven'o'clock. Seven and a quarter hours since her life got turned upside down. Three things were for certain though: Ashla was dead, Ahsoka was on her own and she would never go into care ever again.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, probably the saddest part that there will be. Once again, thank you to all my readers and voters and commenters so far. It does really mean a lot to me. I'll update again soon. Bye, bye.
