Ahsoka cycled home with some care as to not upset her injured leg. Mr Skywalker had been really kind to her today so it hadn't been a terrible first day. Pretty much like how any other first day of a new school year began. Still, Ahsoka was glad to return home for day. As she cycled up the driveway, she noticed a car that she didn't recognise. "MUM! I'm back! Did you miss me?" Ahsoka called as she stepped through the door, throwing her bag onto the floor.
Her mum sounded startled. "Ahsoka! Good, I'm glad your home. Can you come in here for a moment?" Her interest was piqued by what Ashla was saying and entered the living room with a smile. That smile fell off her face fastr than she had fallen today when she saw who her mother was sat with.
"Ahsoka? Wow, you've grown!" Her dad exclaimed, jumping up off the seat to give her a hug. She jumped away to the side, wincing as she put pressure on her injured leg. "Hey kiddo, you okay?" He looked concerned at the plaster on her leg.
Ahsoka jerked away from him once more. "I'm fine, Dad." She snapped through gritted teeth. "Unlike the time I had Whooping cough when I was nine and Mum lost her job. Not like you care!" Ahsoka turned to her mum. "Why is he here?"
Her mum came up beside her and helped Ahsoka sit down. "I'm sorry sweetie, I tried to call you but it went to voicemail. Hosin called me earlier today with a new job offer. As well as quite a lot of child support. Look, he just wanted to talk to you. He'll go in a minute." Ashla glanced at Hosin with meaning as she guided her daughter to the couch. "What happened to your leg?" She looked at the dark stain that was slightly visible through her tights that had circled around her wound.
"I tripped in PE, on the tennis ball bucket, I was wearing my shin pads however it was just above them. Sir helped me go to the nurse's office and put the plaster on." Ahsoka rolled up her trousers to show the plaster and slight blood around the edges. "I'm okay though... Physically." She glared at her dad for Ahsoka blamed him for her mum's breakdown during her younger childhood.
Ashla eyes lit up. "Oh yes, you had a new teacher today! How was he?" All of them knew that she was trying to diffuse the situation yet it wasn't working.
Ahsoka folded her arms. "I'd be happy to discuss my day with you, beloved Mother. Although it seems like we have an unwelcome and unwanted interloper. They should probably be disposed of, right away." She was proud of herself for not feeling guilty over the hurt look on Hosin's face.
He stepped forward and cleared his throat. "Well on that note, I better get going. It was nice to see you again Ashla, Ahsoka." Hosin grabbed his coat, looking rather ashamed, before going to the door.
"Hosin wait!" Ashla called out and looked pointedly at her daughter. She shook her head vehemently, was her mother crazy?! 'Has she forgotten what happened the last time he saw us?' Ahsoka wondered if she had forgotten had nightmares about that for over a year. "Ahsoka, he is your Dad and he wants to spend more time with us. I think that we should go out for dinner, it'll be nice. We can hear all about your day." Hosin looked surprised but nodded excitedly nonetheless.
Ahsoka looked as though she would rather do absolutely anything else than that. "NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! I REFUSE TO BE SEEN ANYWHERE NEAR HIM!" She stormed upstairs and slammed her bedroom door so hard that some loose flakes fell down from the ceiling. Throwing herself down on her bed, Ahsoka screamed into her pillow. She refused to go through everything ever again. Ahsoka lifted her head and heard her parents quietly discussing something. Her, most likely. It didn't matter, she wouldn't go to dinner with them even if they left her home alone. She could make her own tea.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahsoka was seething and foaming at the mouth. Not only did her parents practically drag her to the car, but forced her to wear this hideous dress! Granted it was actually quite beautiful- ankle-length, midnight blue, two little straps, swishy skirt- however Ahsoka hated wearing anything fancy. This restaurant also didn't help her mood, it was the fanciest eating out place in town. A place that used numerous forks and spoons, like how was she supposed to know which ones to use?! Ridiculous!
The only upside was that her dad was paying so Ahsoka had a plan to order the topmost expensive starters, mains, drinks and desserts, even if she didn't eat them all. If he thought he could buy back her love then he was going to have to pay up- big time! However it wouldn't matter for Ahsoka wasn't a brat who enjoyed material possessions or was someone who gave away her emotions on exchange for money.
As the maitre d' showed them to their table, Ahsoka became filled with the urge to call Lux and ask him what the hell all this fancy stuff meant. He was posh and rich, he would know. "My, isn't this place absolutely lovely Ahsoka? Thank you Hosin, you're too kind." Her mother was all flustered for she too had never eaten out at this restaurant. However she was being a lot more gracious and grateful about it.
Hosin shook his head. "It's the least that I can do. Now, what should we have?" Her parents started to look at the menu, stating about how lovely a certain dish sounded or being shocked at the price. To which her dad assured Ashla that it was fine for him to pay. 'The least he could do is leave Mum and myself alone after how he left us. Give us a shred of respect in your new life. How's the wife and kids by the way Hosin?' Ahsoka continued to think bad thoughts about someone who she was half of for she'd noticed the wedding ring on his finger and baby photos sticking out of his wallet.
Twins. Her half-brother and sister. That felt like a sharper wound than if Ahsoka stabbed herself with the sharpest knife at the table.
He'd replaced her. Her own dad had decided he didn't want to her dad anymore. 'Well, I don't want to be your daughter either.' Ahsoka growled to herself. Hosin had also replaced Ashla yet she still swooned and reminisced over their old photos and memories. 'Waste of space.' Ahsoka thought, at least he and her both shared the same opinion of each other.
Another family came into the restaurant which immediately attracted her attention so that she had something else to observe. Ahsoka immediately wished she hadn't. 'Oh well, no need to call him now.' Ahsoka laughed to herself as Lux Bonteri and his mother were seated at the table in front of them. Followed by them was a lovey-dovey couple which made Ahsoka want to barf. Her appetite suddenly disappeared though when she saw who the man was. Mr Skywalker. If either of them noticed her, they didn't show it. Maybe it was the dress? Nevertheless, this evening just got a while lot more difficult. 'Thank you Universe...' Ahsoka looked upwards as she snapped internally, narrowing her eyes at whatever being- if there was one- decided to make her suffer tonight.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter, Ahsoka's dad has entered the picture! I'm actually having quite a lot of fun writing this story. I'll update again tomorrow most likely. Bye, bye.
