You knew you should stay off the Boardwalk, considering the amount of Vampires you smelt there. But that didn't worry you. If worse comes to worse, you can just move on to another city where there are no Vampires. You wanted to take in the night life of the small beach town.
The image of the tall, dark haired male you ran into last night kept flashing before your mind. You growled slightly and shook your head. He was a Vampire, your natural enemy, or so you were told by your Pack Elders when you were still with them. You looked around at the massive amounts of Missing Persons posters. A woman was putting up a poster of a security guard. You scrunched your your face. The disappearance was probably due to those Vampires, adding to the numbers of disappearances, besides all the humans killing other humans. Honestly, what was the point of all that? Humans sure are strange creatures. As you were walking along, you noticed a video store that looked interesting. You had a VCR player in your apartment, but no tapes, so you wanted to get some new video tapes to play. You walked inside. You smelt it again. Vampire. Looking to the center of the store, you noticed that there was a tall, lengthy male. He dressed smart, a vest, a button up white shirt, a bowtie and some glasses. He also wore tan pants. The male smiled at you and then frowned. You tensed. You knew he could clearly smell your scent and he did not seem happy that you were there.
"What are you doing in here?" He asked. You looked at him and narrowed you eyes.
"Chill man. I'm just looking for some video tapes." You said. As you looked around, you kept feeling his eyes on you, making you extremely uncomfortable. You were about to turn around and leave, when the man stopped in front of you.
"You. I know what you are. Your kind isn't welcome here." He said. His voice was low and sounded angry and dangerous. You narrowed your eyes, they flashed a bright yellow before returning to their normal [e/c] color.
"Do not speak ill of my kind," you said quietly. "I don't want any trouble. Just let me leave, and we can forget all of this ever happened." You said. Before the man could respond, a voice cut him off,
"You're not being very nice to your customers, Max." The voice said. The two of you looked over and saw four boys. You gasped lightly at seeing Dwayne with them. Dwayne caught your eyes and gestured for you to walk over to him. With one more glance at Max, you tried to walk over to Dwayne, but Max caught the back of your shirt, making you gasp in surprise. You noticed how Dwayne tensed, seeming ready to attack Max if he hurt you. The thought made you frown slightly. Why would Dwayne care about what happened to you, a werewolf?
"I thought I told you all to not come in here anymore." He said. David frowned harder and glanced at you.
"They're new. They're with us and they don't know the rules very well. Let them go and they can come with us. We'll leave your store." David said. Max scoffed and let go of your shirt. He pushed you forward. Dwayne caught you and pushed you behind him, as if protecting you from Max's view.
"I can take care of myself, you know." You whispered to Dwayne. Dwayne ignored your comment. Max looked at the boys expectantly.
"Well! Keep to your end of the deal. Leave." He demanded. David scoffed and nodded to the boys.
"Okay boys, let's go." He said. With that, they all walked out. David sighed and looked at you. "Well, never thought I'd see a werewolf in Santa Carla." He said. You tensed and glanced around.
"Will you keep your voice down, please? Unlike you blood suckers, I don't particularly want to reveal what I am to the general public." You said. David chuckled. Dwayne smirked lightly.
"Don't worry," he said, making you look at him. "Your secret's safe with us. Just, try and stay away from Max's store. He's the one you have to look out for." Dwayne said. David shot Dwayne a look, seeming to tell him to stop talking. David looked at you.
"You know where Hudson's Bluff is, overlooking the point?" He asked. You arched an eyebrow.
"Dude, what part of, I'm new here don't you understand?" You asked sarcastically. David smirked.
"Even better," he nodded his head to Dwayne. "You'll ride with Dwayne."
You quickly began to question what exactly you had gotten yourself into.
