Warnings: More cheesy pickup lines
~~~~~~
"Hey babe." You smiled as you heard the familiar voice of your now best friend, Paul. After he had saved you from the drunk man a few weeks ago, you had developed a strong friendship with the blonde rock star look alike. You had made friends with the other boys, but you were closest to Paul. You turned around at the counter and smirked.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't my favorite group of trouble makers." You said. Max was currently out on a date with a woman named Lucy, who had come in a few days ago helping a little boy find his mom. You were happy for Max. While he wasn't the kindest to the boys, he was certainly kind to you. Lucy seemed like a very nice woman, and you thought that Max deserved to be happy. //Please don't hate me, this is only for the story. I do not like Max at all.// Paul was the first one to make it to the counter, resting his arms against the counter top. David looked around.
"Where's Max?" He asked. You looked at him.
"He's on a date with a woman named Lucy." You said. Marko raised his eyebrows.
"Wow, Mr. Grumpy actually can actually get a date. Who knew." He said. You chuckled and rolled your eyes at his remark.
"Oh leave him alone. Even if he is an asshole, he still deserves to be happy," you said. Marko shrugged. You looked at Paul and the boys. "So, have you guys come to bug me again during my shift, or do you guys actually need something?" You asked. The boys were notorious for randomly showing up at the video store to talk to you, specifically Paul. He would always bring out the cheesy pick up lines and you always told him that you had heard them before. Dwayne placed his hands on David and Marko's shoulders.
"Let's go, I'm staving." He said. David nodded. He looked at Paul.
"Are you coming, Paul?" David asked. Paul looked back at his friends.
"You guys go ahead. I'll catch up with you in a bit." Paul said. Marko stared at his partner in crime, the two seemed like they were having a silent conversation. Finally, Marko smirked and nodded his head before leaving with David and Dwayne.
"See ya around, [Y/N]!" Marko shouted as the boys got on their motorcycles and sped off. You smiled and waved to them, telling them to drive safe. "Do you have a name or can I call you mine?"
You looked at Paul, an unimpressed look crossing your face.
"Nice try, Paul. I've heard that one a million times." You said. Paul smirked again. He rested his elbows against the counter and pointed at you.
"Okay, okay, how about this one," he cleared his throat and stood up straight. "Your hand looks heavy. Let me hold it for you." He said. He reached for your hand. You moved your hand back and rested your chin against it.
"Your teeth look crooked. Let me straighten them for you." You said, smiling sarcastically. Paul hissed in mock pain and put his hand over his chest.
"Oh, you wound me!" He bounced back and looked at you again. He leaned against the counter. "Okay, how about this. If I could rearrange the alphabet, I'd put U and I together." He said. He winked. He was sure to get you this time. You laughed lightly and crossed your arms over your chest.
"Some guy used this on me, and I was like: I like it the way it is, with N and O together." You said. You smirked and arched your eyebrow. Paul seemed to be running out of steam. He moved his eyes around, thinking about another one to ask. He decided that it was now or never. You frowned. Paul wasn't normally this quiet. He almost always had something up his sleeve to say.
"Paul?"
"If I asked you out on a date, would you say yes? Hypothetically, of course." Paul said. You blinked in surprise. Did your best friend just ask you out on a date? You could see that Paul was visibly nervous about what your response would be. He kept shifting from foot to foot and fidgeting with his hands. You smiled softly at him.
"Well, hypothetically, would you want to get ice cream with me and hold hands as we walk down the boardwalk?" You asked. You could see Paul's nervous stare turn into one of happiness.
"I have a better idea than just ice cream," he said. "How about we go on every single ride on the boardwalk, and then get ice cream, and then finish it off with a ride on the Ferris Wheel." Paul suggested. You smiled.
"My shift ends in an hour. Give me a little bit of time to get out of my work clothes and then I'm all yours."
