27 - Sus

Chenle was starting to get suspicious over Jisung's sudden disappearance. Usually, they would text every day but over the past four days, nothing. He wasn't at the base and a mission abroad usually only took three days before the member would contact the base. He decided to bring it up with Taeyong, so he made his way to his office.

He knocked loudly and heard a muffled answer to enter, to which he saw Jungwoo and Jaehyun sitting opposite the leader.

"Ah, Chenle, what's up?" He greeted. "I don't have any more chairs left so you can take mine if you want."

"No need, I'm not here for long. Where's Jisung?"

"On a mission."

"China."

"Office."

The three of them answered quickly before Taeyong gave the other two a harsh glare. "What we mean is a mission in China to spy on an office building. I heard they were trying to distribute some new drugs to Korea.

The youngest frowned. It wasn't unusual for China to supply Korea but to send only Jisung was, especially since he was the newest member and not a drug specialist. He also didn't speak Mandarin fluently, if at all, unlike WayV, who were also usually in China. "OK, and when will he be back? It doesn't take that long to gather information on a building."

"Ah, we don't know. We gave him a few addresses to look at, he should be back soon."

He was even more confused. Before sending out any member, they gave definite locations. I'm not going to get anything out of them, he thought, I'll have to follow them.

"Mhm, OK, let me know when he's back then." He waved at the members and left.

"Next time, let me do the talking," whispered Taeyong after he left.

"You're suspicious of them too, right?" Sungchan asked an hour later after Chenle went into Taeyong's office. "There's no way Jisung goes on a mission straight after another."

"Oh thank God I'm not the only one who felt like that!" Chenle sighed dramatically. They were sat on his bed along with Ten, who was just drawing but listening in.

"I trust Taeyong's judgement, he won't lie to us." The older stated and resumed his sketch.

"I do too, but something's not adding up." Chenle furrowed his eyebrows then gasped. "What if he's been kidnapped?!"

"Surely, he would tell us?"

"Hey, if you're so curious, I'm sure the 127 members are having a meeting soon, in about," Ten checked his watch, "20 minutes."

"What would that have to do with Jisung?" Sungchan asked.

"Kun and Yangyang said they had a private matter to attend to at 4pm on the group chat, coincidentally the same time as the meeting."

"I mean, they are both doctors, it could be a doctor-related thing?" Chenle suggested.

"Just go and find out, OK? They could talk about Jisung there and you could be dismissing vital information." Ten uncrossed his legs and walked out of the room.

"I'm starting to think he's also worried about Jisung."

"I brought the sample!" Yangyang said excitedly as he burst into Kun's office.
