"Jisung, shoot them."
He walked along the line of kneeling members, inspecting them and settled to go to Chenle first. He crouched down to grab his hair and whispered to him. "I've not had a dose of my drugs for two days. They think whatever I've had is working."
"What are you waiting for? Shoot them or I will!" The Utopia Party leader tapped his foot impatiently.
Jisung rose and made his way to Ten. "The new leader I suppose. I should shoot you first." He said and aimed a pistol at his head, courtesy of JYP.
He unlatched the safety of the gun and placed his finger on the trigger, building more pressure on it as time passed. Just before the trigger point could be activated, he switched his aim to JYP and fired. Instantly, he aimed for the guards holding NCT hostage and shot the nine guards.
"I need to do something before we go, hold on." Jisung crushed the discarded remote on the floor with his foot. Within seconds, the crowd of civilians had gained their consciousness back and looked around confusedly.
"Come on, we need to run!" He grabbed the closest member's arm, Shotaro, and ran offstage with the others following close by. "We can't let them see that we shot their great leader because we'd be the prime suspects."
"But they would have seen us already!" Yuta replied.
The youngest shook his head. "They'll forget everything that happened in the last few hours. And I don't think we can get Jaemin and Mark back."
"What? Why?"
"Because I'm still alive." Eunhee stepped out from the corner. The members stopped in their tracks once they saw the rifle in her hands. "They're pretty cute and very good at their job. I think I might keep them."
"They not toys! They're human beings!"
"Well, it serves-"
A shot was heard and Eunhee fell to the ground, blood pooling around her chest wound.
"Are you kids alright? I couldn't find where you went after your base blew up."
"Sooman!" They rushed to hug their benefactor.
"Come on, we need to hide. The news outlets think it's the work of terrorists and more government officials are being called for backup. Let's go before they catch us."

They went back to EXO's base where they were in for a pleasant surprise.
"Mark? Jaemin?" Winwin asked in disbelief.
"Hi?" The Dreamies' leader waved, who was quickly engulfed in a tight hug along with Jaemin. "Guys, too much."
"Sooman rescued us. Turns out that the government's HQ lacks security during speeches like this." Jaemin explained, hugging everyone back.
"And the drug that they gave us is easily reversible with liquorice sticks! Who would have thought?" Mark added.
"Wait, so how is Jisung OK then?" Jeno asked. They all turned to their maknae.
"The pills never had anything in them for me, but I had to keep my cover under Taeyong's orders." He explained. The others looked at him like he was crazy, but he continued. "And yes, I did shoot Taeyong. We agreed on it a while back after he discovered that I was a double agent and was ordered to infiltrate you guys. He made me realise that they were the bad guys and I switched to your side. It was hard to keep up pretences with them, but I think it worked, don't you? After all, you all thought I was working for them."
"So, you really were a government spy?" Chenle asked, tears filling his eyes. "Was our friendship a lie too?"
He shook his head vehemently. "Not at all, you've been the only thing helping me through everything. I'm sorry if I made you feel like our friendship was nothing, but I needed to maintain my deep cover."
Jisung hugged Chenle and he reciprocated. The older broke it off after a while and playfully hit his arm. "Next time, tell me your elaborate plans."
"I will."
"So...are you still with NCT?" Yuta asked.
"If you'll let me. I know I shot Taeyong, but I avoided everyone else when you escaped. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop the other guards from shooting everyone else because it would have also blown my cover. By the way, Shotaro, I did see you."
"You did?" His eyes widened.
"Yeah, I'm just glad you escaped. Is this everyone then?" He looked around the room.
"Unfortunately." Ten sighed.
"You still wanna run NCT, Ten?" Yangyang asked.
"No." He shook his head. "I went off without orders today; I'm not fit to be the leader. Mark?"
"Nah, I'm done being the leader. I'm not cut out for it. But I do know someone who is."
They all turned to the same person.
"Me?!"
"Yes, you Jisung! No one else can pass off such a role after the stunts you've pulled over the past few months. And I think the others will agree." The others nodded and shared encouraging words.
He shrugged. "Fine, I guess. But we need to find another base. Don't think I don't know that this isn't EXO's base."
"I got you covered," Sooman added. "There's an emergency base in Busan. A little smaller than your previous one, but it should fit everyone."
"So, Jisung. What should we do now?" Sungchan asked.
"Well, we can't be a revolutionary group with such small numbers? Let's recruit some more members."
FIN
That's the true ending. If there are any questions, let me know.
I'm not even physically sure Jisung's explanation would canonically fit, but I needed him back on their side for this ending as I wanted a maknae on top idea somewhere in this story.
