Killing time

I ran across the campus as I tried my very best to kill all the time I had with everyone being out and about.

It was a holiday as it was the days the university was founded so we had Thursday and Friday free.

Everyone was making a good us of their Thursday and was doing all kinds of stuff.

I did feel quite relaxed but also bored.

Exercise was my thing as much as everyone else in my family.

I loved running, it was the easiest way for me to clear my mind but today it wasn't working.

Today, it being my birthday was on my mind and that's it.

I loved celebrating my birthday and this year was no different but I wasn't feeling it this year.

I had nothing I wanted to do.

Everyone close to me insisted they spend time with me but I refused and told them to carry on with their days as normal.

I guess this year was difficult for me because I didn't think I'd made it a day past 15, let alone make it to 19.

I decide to make the run to Theo's.

I knock on his door and hug my niece and nephew when they open the door with Theo behind him.

"How are my two favourite little monsters?" I say and they both smile at me.

They're autistic so they're not as laughy as other kids their age but they love me and they don't need to laugh in my presence for me to know that.

"Happy Birthday cousin dearest." He says and I hug him too.

"Thanks Theo. I appreciate it. I'm really not in the mood this year for celebrations but am still grateful for the well wishes because this year that's all that matters." I walk in and go into his fridge and grab some water and hand the little ones some baby waters. They loved cold water but it wasn't good for the sensitivity in their teeth so they had a small bit as a treat.

"I always forget to do that." Theo says.

"Me too. I remembered because it says here that they have to do it." I point at the list. "I'm gonna take a shower, then I'll go back to campus. This has cleared my mind incredibly."

"I'm so glad. Your clothes are in Sasha's room. She's in their right now. You know what to do." Theo says and I nod and go.

I knock on Sasha's door and she hugs me when she sees me.

"What is the birthday girl doing here? I assume a nice shower?" I nod. "Let me get you some clothes."

She gets me some tights and a dress.

I see. She was trying to make me feel happy because everyone could tell I was feeling sad. She also hands me a bra and some underwear.

This woman was like a second mother to me, Aunt Toni being first.

Sasha was also the grandmother of my very much hated Sacha, hence the similar names.

She loved her grandson very much and she actually went back to home to Gillian and Fred a lot.

She loved Theo as well saying that helping around the house was a great pleasure. She's known me since I was child because of Aunt Toni and Uncle Carl and Sacha.

Theo paid her well, I made sure of it.

I actually contributed to her pension each month.

She probably thought she was getting a good 401k but this was gonna be amazing.
