"Woah, is that?!
"I think it is!"
"THE SKY TRE--"
"No it isn't, you unbelievable dumbasses!" You rolled your eyes with a disbelieving scoff. Seriously, was it even possible for the two idiots to get dumber?
Nearby, Kuroo started laughing rather obnoxiously, and you turned to him, your arms crossed over your chest. "What, got something to say, Rooster top?"
Kuroo's eyes widened, and he blanched, recoiling a bit. "What? No! Why would I ever have something to say to you?!" Slowly, your eyes narrowed in suspicion. This was far from the cocky jerk you met last time. Something was up. "H-hey, wait a sec, aren't you missing a few guys?" The captain of the cats quickly tried to change the subject, only serving to make you more suspicious.
But there would be more time to figure that out later. For now, you still had to get ready for the camp.
Quickly, you made your way towards the gym, bypassing mohawk guy on the way before he could see Yachi and make some dumb comment again. You heard yelling behind you a moment later, but chose to ignore it in favor of your own sanity.
Your eyes shined with excitement at all the commotion going on in the gym. Four teams. And all of them great. This would be an amazing week.
"Hmmph."
And you spoke too soon.
Slowly, you turned with narrowed eyes to face the boy who was literal inches from your own face, his golden eyes boring holes into your skull. "May I help you?" You asked slowly, not quite believing how forward he was.
"Play me."
"I'm sorry?"
"Seriously, man? They just got here. At least give him a second to get adjusted before you go and start bugging him," a very tired voice sighed from behind the spiky guy.
You leaned over to make eye contact with the one behind him, who was extremely pretty by the way and currently had you questioning your life goals and motivations and whether you were willing to throw them all away for just a single chance at dating him. "Is he yours? Can't you get a leash or something?" You snarked, lifting a brow. Tsukki was really starting to rub off on you, wasn't he?
"Hey!" Spiky guy protested. "I'm talking to you! Just play against me again, ok?! Please?!"
"What are you talking about? I've never met you before!" You scoffed in annoyance.
"What?!" He gasped loudly, as though you had just told him he had 30 seconds left to live. "How could you forget your practice buddy?! Was what we had really that meaningless to you?!?!"
Wait.
His hair was dyed, and he was way taller now, but you definitely knew this guy.
This was Bokuto, wasn't it?
And he was getting ready to blow your secret to the whole world.
Oh god.
Ok, ok, calm down here. Bokuto may have recognized you, but he was easily the only person you were close to back when you were still playing in the middle school version of this association, so nobody else should be able to recognize you very easily. Plus, if you remembered right and he hadn't done a complete 180 on his personality, it wouldn't exactly be too difficult to trick him. You just had to be careful.
