'We can see them,' Matthew said. My eyes flicked to Levi who made eye contact with me for a split second before facing the direction of Prada. 'Shooting in five... four... three... two... now.' Instead of a gun booming in my ear, it was more of a pop. Two pops sounded and the communicator went quiet.

'The trackers are goin' bonkers,' Gazza informed us after a minute. 'They followed perfectly as they were shot, but as soon as they made contact with the vehicle...'

'I thought these ones were designed to resist the coding done in the CBD,' Matthew hissed.

'I thought so too. I helped make the fucking things,' Levi grumbled. 'Do you know what this means?'

Silence met him.

'We're running blind.' He motioned for me to hand the phone over. 'Scar can you still see them?' He fiddled with the SIM card.

'They drove right past us and turned away from you guys. I think they either plan on drawing us out or their base is actually out there somewhere.'

'We've gotta put Piper to use now. Any later and it'll be suspicious,' David said. 'Go ahead with whatever plan you've got Levi. It's now or never.'

'It's already in action.' He slipped the SIM into the phone and ran for the lift, grabbing me and hauling me along behind him. He texted someone on his phone while we waited for the doors to open.

I ran back to retrieve the trench coat and I glanced over the edge again just to make sure that they weren't already arriving at the plaza. I was back beside the lift doors as they opened. I heaved a sigh of relief but the small signs of fear of Levi's features wiped away any trace of relaxation I felt and replaced it with tension. He punched the button for the second floor and the lift immediately dropped. 'Are you going to tell me what the plan actually is?' I asked.

'Smash this phone so that it flickers on their tracker then take out the SIM so that it looks like their signal went dead and finish smashing the phone so that there is no way they can access the SIM port. Then run.'

'That's it?' I exclaimed.

'It all depends on what they do. Whether they come or not. What they chose to do once they're here. Stuff like that but I've got a plan for every situation forming right now.'

'That sounds promising,' I mumbled and crossed my arms, transferring my weight onto one leg. 'What if they're just-' I was cut off as the doors opened and Levi pulled me out then let go of my arm so we could run down the dirty staircase behind a maintenance door. As soon as we were out in the alley, Levi threw the phone onto the ground, waited about twenty seconds then took out the SIM and stomped on the phone until it was just a piece of metal and shattered glass. He slipped the SIM card into his pocket and sprinted over to his car. I followed, looking back at the destroyed phone in the middle of the alley.

He gunned the engine and took off as soon as my door slammed shut. My knuckles were white as I gripped my seat belt and buckled it. I had no plans to go flying out the windscreen or into Levi if he slammed on the brakes or took a particularly tight turn at high speeds. 'What now?' I gasped. Levi had narrowly missed a reversing car.

'We drive towards them and hope we don't run into them.'

'Explain,' I ordered.

'I'll drive in the direction I think they went and hopefully get us closer to them so we can follow them to wherever they've gone.'

'But Scarlett said they could be luring us out. Did you think about that when you made up your wonderful and genius plan?'

'It crossed my mind but why waste an opportunity like this? We have a chance to finally catch them.' His hands tighten on the steering wheel and I imagined them around Theo's neck, maybe Levi was thinking that too.
