I watched through the curtains as the headlights of a jet black Lamborghini sped off into the night. 'Where have you gone Levi?' I muttered. Slipping into a pair of black shorts, one of the oversized tees that had turned up and socks I slithered out of the room and quietly ran down the hallway to the staircase. As I ran down the stairs I thought I heard a clatter from the kitchen so I approached the dining room and as I grabbed a steak knife from the table, I pushed myself into a gap between a cabinet and a curtain, using the curtain to block me mostly from view. Moments later the door swung open and the room was flooded with light but I was still hidden in the shadows and Levi walked out with a bowl of... ice cream? Why was he still here? Who left minutes ago? He walked straight past me and across to the TV room where he turned on the TV then turned the volume up on some comedy show. I crawled back to the table and put the knife back, you couldn't even tell that I'd taken it then I hid in the shadows beside the doorway waiting for Levi to look out the window or just away from the TV and dining room. I got lucky when he stood up and sauntered over to the table covered in folders and I dashed to the stairs but I stopped. Why had Levi gone over to the table and what folders was he looking at? I crept up the stairs and back to my room. My brain was running a million miles an hour. He said he was leaving tonight and I literally just saw a car -one of Levi's- leave. I remember hearing somewhere that there were four members of the Harp family; did Levi have some identical brother he had failed to mention to me? I climbed into bed after I had checked to make sure that my door was locked and I curled up in a ball. I could do some sleuthing tomorrow, right now I needed to rest.

There was no soup on my bedside table when I awoke the next morning so maybe Levi had left. I wasn't going to take any chances so I moved around the room quietly, trying to get rid of any evidence that I was here and I slipped out of the door after I had made sure there was no one outside. As I crept down the hall I heard footsteps below and I peered down to see a person that looked a lot like Levi walk into the living room. He was barefooted and didn't have a shirt on but his tanned chest didn't have the same amount of pronounced muscle that I'd felt when Levi had carried me up and down the stairs a few days ago. Why was I going off Levi's muscle mass? I scrubbed my face and crawled away from the banister towards the library. I had to find hiding spots in case worst came to worst. If that person wasn't Levi but a look-alike then I was going to need to be prepared. Moments later I heard the TV being turned up and I leaned against the wall. At least there was no chance of anyone hearing me if it was turned up that loud. I snuck into the library and began to rearrange some pieces of furniture to make hiding and possibly escaping easier. Honestly, I didn't have a clue what to do. It wasn't the sort of situation that I came across daily. I opened one of the windows and leaned out to see how far it was to the ground but it turns out I didn't need to worry about a soft landing, the large pool that I'd seen out of windows yesterday was there.

I went from room to room unlocking windows, moving furniture, taking items to reinforce my room, I even went to the kitchen to collect two knives to hide under the mattress. I stumbled upon Levi's study again and tried every key on the locked door but none worked. Well, well, well, what a surprise. I knelt and picked the lock with a bobby pin. The door swung open silently and I slipped through, making sure no one was watching before closing and locking the door behind me. 'Shoulda tried harder Levi,' I thought smugly. A computer sat on the desk with paper strewn around it. The PRIVATE files were the only things stacked neatly on the desk. I slid into the seat and turned the computer on until his lock screen came up. Puppies!? Seriously Levi? I stifled a laugh and pressed a key so that the sign-in would appear. The password to his phone was easy and simple so maybe his computer was too. I tried 1,2,3,4,5,6 but that didn't work. Maybe his date of birth? Surely he'd have something with his date of birth on it somewhere. I opened all the drawers and sifted through them with no luck but I stumbled upon a drawer with a fake bottom that popped up easily. It was like Levi wanted me to find stuff. I pulled out a file with a weird symbol in the top right corner: four bold dots in the shape of a square. Flipping it open I scanned the first page. Newspaper clippings of my parents' crash and little handwritten notes under each article. 'Why now?... connection?... what did they want?... Rodd's involvement?' The next page had my dad's name written in bold and a list of all the projects he had done under J.M Williams and Co. some had confidential in brackets after the name. 'iPhone Technology Upgrade,' came up regularly but it was the confidential ones that caught my attention. Laser Feature... Computer Glasses... Identifier Glasses... Liquid Fire Grenade... Handgun Silencer... and so on. Holy fuck. I leant back in the chair and scrubbed my face. What kind of deep shit were you doing dad!? I looked back over Levi's questions. What did they want? Well, obviously whoever killed dad wanted him to stop making this crazy shit. Why now? Cos' it was probably close to their evil lair. I scoffed and ran a hand through my hair. Who has an evil lair? Villians in superhero movies, not friggin real life! I needed fresh air, I could come back to the computer later. I put the folder back and left the study.
