ameera

"happy birthday, ash!" i ran toward my best friend, tackling her in a bear hug. "my pearls, my pearls!" she yelled, pushing me away and touching her delicate necklace with a look of disbelief. "be careful of the pearls.." she whispered to me.

she pushed past me when billie came into her vision, practically jumping on her. "hey, ash. happy birthday." billie smiled and rocked her side to side. not gonna lie, billie looks so fucking gay today. i took a second to eye her in her cute white shirt and beige shorts, a matching snapback to complete the outfit.

"come on, everyone else is over here." ash grabbed me by the arm and adjusted the tiara on her head. "how old are you turning again?" i laughed, eyeing the thing. "19. this is princess shit." she said, her head held high.

"period." i said and looked over to billie who was already looking at me. when our eyes met, i smiled and she winked, dropping her sunglasses back over her eyes.

"hey mr and mrs bailey!" i approached ash's parents with a huge hug. "ameera, darling! it's been too long. our house is way too empty without you and ash running around like little misfits." her mom said, smiling. i chuckled, thinking back to when we used to play hide and seek in her massive mansion in the hamptons. i would get lost about 20 times in one round.

"i knowww, im so homesick. have you spoken to my mom recently?" i asked mrs. bailey and she sighed. "unfortunately, we had a bit of a falling out, sweetie. she's seeing someone and he's changed her." she said and my eyebrow raised. seeing someone?

"oh?" is all i could say and she nodded, looking at me with sad eyes. "reminds me of when was with your father... but anyways. parks all rented out and you guys have all day! have some fun." she said and pushed me into towards ash.

as me and the entire group of ash's friends smiled for the picture, it was hard to get my mom off of my mind. what the hell has she gotten herself into?

"what's up, what are you thinking about?" billie asked me, handing me cone with cotton candy on it. we walked arm in arm through disneyland. "mrs. bailey.. i don't know. i feel like my mom's in trouble." i said and she frowned.

"we can try calling her later. let's just have fun for now." she tilted my head towards hers and kissed me sweetly. "yeah, ive always wanted to do this." i smiled back, handed her my cotton candy and ran after ash. "dibs on the front two seats!" i screamed and grabbed her hand.

after about 15 rides, i sat down, queasy as hell. "here, have some water." billie handed me and bottle and rubbed my back. "let's get on something slow and chill." she said and i nodded.

we entered the carousel of progress and i can't lie, it was a bit creepy being completely empty. as soon as we sat down, it started and the family on stage began. billie sighed, putting her head on my shoulder.

"i love you." she said softly, wrapping her arms around me. "i love you more, baby." i kissed her forehead and she shook her head. "no way, impossible." i leaned my head on top of hers and next thing i knew i was being woken up by her pretty face.

"come on baby, shows over." billie stood over me, holding her hand out. "oh thanks." i said and sleepily followed her out of the attraction. ash sent me her location with firm instructions to hurry up. when we got to the party bus, billie and i climbed in. "ugh, finally." ash said and handed me a cup of something. she handed one to billie and she passed. "what's in this?" i asked her and she shrugged. "not sure but it's alcoholic."

"im good." i put the cup down and turned to billie. before i got to speak, i was interrupted. "oh my god hi billie eilish." some girl shouted. "hey." billie said charismatically. "didn't know you were friends with ash. and you little miss ameera, how lucky are you?" she spoke playfully but her tone was laced with maliciousness. "im with ameera and i love ash she's great so i couldn't miss today." billie said.
