Chapter 21 Coming Home
"I'm nearing the exit. Just wait a little bit." I said through the phone as I clutch my handbag and luggage. I chuckled when I heard both Fawn and Meiya speaking in unison as if they want to talk to me at the same time.
"All right. I think I'm seeing you guys now." I muttered and giggled when I saw a glimpse of them. They're turning their heads left and right to see the arriving passengers. When I caught Meiya's gaze, she instantly ended the call and ran towards me.
I threw myself towards them and hugged them tight. It's been so long! I missed them. Both of them got a little taller than me. Meiya became more petite and Fawn grew her hair until waist length. They looked more mature than they are than the camera and screen.
Fawn pinched my cheeks and suppress a squeal. "This is absolutely real!"
After the greetings and short chatting, a taxi came and picked us up. Meiya sat beside the driver while me and Fawn occupied the passenger's seat. At the very back are my luggage and other things.
"Where's your Mom? I thought she's going with you?" Fawn asked, curiously.
I shook my head and tied my hair into a ponytail. "She changed her mind. Plus, she got work in the US and the company is planning to promote her. We can't let that opportunity pass." I answered.
"Woah, congratulations to your Mom!" She cheered. "So, you're alone here? Where are you staying at?"
"At my cousin's house. We already talked about it and she agreed letting me stay over until I get to clean our old house." I replied, pursing my lips and raising my brows up and down.
Meiya turn her head towards us to chime in with the conversation. "You're going to live in your old house? Alone?!"
I nod my head as a response. "Yeah. Plus, I cannot afford to waste that space. The house is still ours so now that I'm here, might as well live there again."
I sighed deeply and leaned my back on the seat due to tiredness. "I'm also going to try my luck in the fashion industry here. I didn't get to try anything in the US because of some reason. So, I hope I'll have some projects soon."
"Goodluck!" They both cheered while I smile sweetly.
Just then, my stomach grumbled. I suggested that we should go to a restaurant nearby to eat after dropping my things to my cousin's house and they both agreed.
After doing so, I found myself sitting in front of the table full of delicious food. I cannot wait any longer and my hunger is striking that's why I started eating. Meiya and Fawn did too.
