"Hey... If you want to yell or hit me for being foolish, then hurry up and get done with it."

"And what do you mean by that, dear dongsaeng?"

Alberu's eyes narrowed.

However, Cale did not react much this time and expertly controlled his facial muscles as he nonchalantly shrugged.

"What? I know I deserved that. I made you worry, you scolded or punished me like a kid. Isn't that how things work?"

Cale hates pain.

And he doesn't know if he would survive if Choi Han really put his mind to it while beating him up.

However.

At this point, anything is better than this deafening silence.

'Just stop being all quiet like this, damn it!'

After all, it's been 15 minutes with this complete still.

No one is uttering a word.

Nobody is reacting verbally to him.

Not even the children made a single comment as they absurdly behaved. Which is ominous.

If it was just On, Lock, and Mary, honestly he wouldn't get this jumpy. But even Alberu has nothing to say to him despite his glare. Which this has made Cale all squirmy and uncomfortable.

He rather takes a frontal beating like how Park Jin Tae used to treat him rather than get this anxious.

"Now, what's the good in scolding you if you don't seem to be remorseful about it, you unlucky bastard?"

Eruhaben chided with a hardened gaze.

This time, Cale flinched a bit, but he tried his best to remain calm as he replied to the enraged dragon.

"I don't know? To let out your pent-up frustration? You guys are like ticking bombs right now. That's not good"

All the while, at the moment, he's the prime target for their explosive emotions.

"I'm at fault. So, isn't it only natural to be angry at me? I even waste the time of some important figures here"

He added as he glanced at the royalties and Toonka who came along, as well as the other dragons.

"...if you're aware, why aren't you apologizing instead, Hyung-nim?"

Basen could not understand why is his brother like this.

"Hmm? Why, you asked?"

Cale thought to himself with a little frown on his face before saying the first reason that comes to mind. He has decided to be truthful anyway.

"I mean, I am at fault for not telling you. But other than that, I'm sure that I'm not in the wrong for reasons that unfortunately I couldn't share."

He then added to that explanation calmly.

"Apologizing is for something that you regret."

"And do you not regret your action?"

Cale looked down on his only daughter and smiled apologetically as he erased her tears gently.

"I regret making you worry, but I did not regret making that deal."

How could he when it's basically saving someone who's far too similar to himself?

Saving Kim and Cale was Rok Soo's own decision despite how uncomfortable he is to make deal with the God he's been particularly swearing at for the longest time...
