"I would have never imagined this happening. He's grown quite fond of her." A smooth male voice, like a devious snake, drew my attention. It could only be the Sun God, I'd grown accustomed to hearing it.
"It's refreshing for now. This can only manifest into something much worse." The Moon Goddes remarked as she sent him a small glance as if she was unimpressed.
"What exactly do you mean? Does he not show her affection? He is brutal in some of his ways but that is his Alpha nature. I'm sure being part Feral enhances his inner turmoil greatly." The Sun God tried to justify as his eyebrows tightened in a challenge. He was just as terrifying as I remembered, looking completely poised in his midnight black and blood-red attire, fit for a God.
"It seems as if he was conflicted with the mate bond originally, but now has succumbed to it. He's obsessed with the little thing." The Moon Goddes looked as regal as ever.
The Sun God gave a devilish smirk before replying. "She is his, after all, I paired them myself."
The Moon Goddes rolled her eyes before she shot back at him in a slightly raised tone. "Just because they're paired doesn't make it sustainable. Each bond is carefully and strategically chosen by me, any bond paired by you is futile."
"You dare imply that I'm incapable?" He seethed.
His outburst, however, had no effect on her. "That's exactly what I'm saying. Do you truly believe that I would abandon my first creation unprovoked?"
"Go ahead, tell me your reasoning." He displayed no signs of backing down but urged her to continue.
"I was young and eager when I created the Ferals. They're imbalanced, too beastly and powerful. They lack humanity. They become so aggressive towards their mates out of jealousy and possessiveness and in many cases ended up killing their other half. I couldn't bear to see them kill each other, so I stopped assigning them fated mates. That is why... Why ferals do not have mates." She seemed almost pained by this revelation, regret seeping from her pores.
The Sun god scuffed as if her reasoning was absurd to him. "If he was going to kill her, he would've done so already. And if what you say is true, you must keep in mind he is only half Feral, wouldn't his humanity be less than a typical wolf but more than a trueborn Feral?"
"It doesn't matter, he's a beast and his true colours are bound to show."
"Why do you do this?" I interjected, quickly garnering their attention.
"Why bring me here just to fill my head with nonsense? I don't care what either of you says. I don't understand what you want me to do about my mate being a Feral tyrant Alpha who could potentially kill me one day." You could call me crazy for snapping at the literal Gods of all supernaturals but it was their fault for haunting my dreams.
The sun God chuckled at my outburst whilst the Moon Goddess studied me carefully. They almost seemed stunned that I had even spoken up.
"Why?" I whispered more towards her, why does she hate our bond? Why must soul less live without mates? The one lady in charge of fated pairs hated and despised my own.
"Soulless wolves weren't meant to have destined mates, and because of that, I don't see this bond doing any good. However, he has exhibited behaviours that I never thought he'd be capable of. You are naive to what he feels for you, I'd advise that you do something before his obsession ruins the both of you." She spoke carefully but the pity in her voice was more than noticeable.
