~~~Time Lapse: 2 weeks~~~
It's been 2 weeks since the first date and I don't know where this is heading or what's going on right now because I can't focus.
Tonight I have another date with Jason. Today, he invited me to a little party his friend is having. I'm going with Jason, but I think I'm the designated driver for almost everybody that's gonna be there.
Hannah is going too because she got asked by a boy from church to go with her, but I don't even think she knows his name.
I don't even think Hannah goes to church.
I clean up the last table and walk to my car to go home.
When I get there, I can smell the strong scent of vodka. I really hope my mom isn't drunken mad again, but by the looks of it, the chances of that are very slim.
I get out of the car and I try to walk to my room as fast as I can, but my mom catches me.
"And where do you think you're going?" she says sluggishly.
"To my room to get ready," I say.
"Oh no you're not!" she yells.
"Mom, I already told Jason I would be going out with him."
"Well, you're not anymore."
"You can't do that!" I'm screaming now. Wow, I sound like I'm two. What has gotten into me?
"Oh yes I can!" she screams back. "Just watch."
This time, she opens the china cabinet and pulls out a glass plate and throws it right at me. It hit the wall, but it was so close to me that the shards scratch my skin.
The pain is worse than I imagined. I scream while my mom just stands there trying to keep her balance.
I use enough strength to look up at her.
"You won't get away with this," I mutter. This is like one of those cheesy dramatic scenes. Who knew they happened in real life.
"Oh, but I already have," she mumbles.
She staggers over to the couch and falls on it in a tough looking position.
I would have laughed, but my arms sting so badly. I go to the bathroom to clean up.
Some cuts aren't horrible, but some must have been hit with some big shards.
I grab a rag and start cleaning myself.
When I'm done, the scratches each leave a mark. If I bandage them, that's too noticeable. I decide to wear a long sleeve shirt to cover them up. I don't care if it's summer. No one is going to see my arms.
A few minutes later, Jason rings the doorbell. Thankfully, my mom doesn't wake up.
"Hey," I say as I open the door.
"Hi," he says back. "Ready for the best night of your life?"
"Well that is what you promised," I respond.
The party is at his friend's house, who is apparently super rich and lives in a large mansion. I can hear the music before we even pull up to the house.
"Just warning you, these parties can get a little crazy," Jason warns me.
"I can't tell," I say sarcastically.
We walk up to the front porch and just walk in. I thought that would be rude but ok, apparently not.
There are already so many people that I almost lose Jason immediately. I follow him, not knowing where the heck I'm going.
We end up walking into the backyard, which is so loud and packed with people. He walks over to the mini bar and gets a small drink.
"You want one?" he asks.
"No thanks," I say. "I don't drink."
He shrugs and starts to drink.
I see Hannah over by the pool so I excuse myself and walk over to her.
"Hi Hannah," I say.
"Oh hi!" she yells. She must have drank some herself.
"Um, where's your date?" I asked her.
"Oh, I ditched him about 20 minutes ago," she says. "Wanna go swimming?"
"Um, no thanks, I'm good," I respond quickly. I don't want anyone to see the scrapes from the glass.
"Oh come on!" Hannah screams. "You know you want to!"
"No I really don't," I say. "I don't have a swimsuit anyway."
"So what?" she says.
"Are you suggesting skinny dipping?"
Hannah smirks at me. "Maybe."
"I'm just not going swimming, ok?" I snap.
She sighs. "Ok......"
We talk for a while longer until Jason stumbles towards us.
"Hey guys." He sounds like he's had more than 4 drinks already. "Swimming would feel great right now."
Hannah looks at me like I'm someone who just told her that shoes were on sale. "No really, no swimming," I say.
"Oh come onnnnn," Jason says. "So what if you don't have a swimsuit? Just swim in your bra!"
"Um, ok, too far guys," I say. "I'm not going swimming, and that's final."
They both sigh. Then right at that moment, some random kid yells "POOL PARTY!" and starts pushing people in the pool, and I just happen to be one of those people. I'm followed by Jason then Hannah.
I swim up to the surface, gasping for air.
"See?" Jason says. "Not so bad!"
I don't really know what to do. I'm mad, but also kinda happy. I look down and see that my shirt is soaked.
"Hey, Jason?" I ask.
"Yeah?" he says.
"I think I need a new shirt."
"Oh, ok," he replies. "Follow me."
We get out of the pool and walk into the house. After everyone started jumping in the pool, there's not really anyone in the house.
He takes me upstairs to a bedroom.
"Uh, you sure you know where you are?" I question.
"Yeah," he says. "This is Drew's room."
"Oh, ok."
He digs in the dresser and pulls out a t-shirt to an amusement park.
"This is one of his old shirts," he tells me. "He won't care if he doesn't have it."
"Ok." I take the shirt and go change in the bathroom.
When I go back, Jason is still waiting in the room, looking at Drew's pictures. I walk over and look with him. They're just pretty much his friend playing sports. Football, basketball, track, you name it.
Jason looks and me and his eyes go wide.
"What?" I ask.
He grabs one of my arms. Shiz, I forgot about that!
"What is this?" he demands.
