I wake up to people screaming in my face and jumping on the bed.

I actually slept on the bed this time. Not the window.

I know. Weird.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUU!" they all scream off-key. I groan and pull the pillow out from under me and put it over my head.

"Come on Macy!" Hannah whines. "Time to get up!"

I turn to my side and look out the window to see absolute darkness. "What time is it?" I ask.

"Five twenty-seven, right when you were born!" Hannah exclaims.

I mentally slap myself. "Hannah, I was born at five twenty-seven p.m.! Not a.m."

"Hannah!" Parker sighs. "I could have slept in more!"

"Me too!" Jenna whines.

"Sorry, sorry!"

I would laugh, but the bed is so comfortable, and I would have fallen back asleep if someone didn't just jump right on top of me.

"Wake up sleepyhead!"

I turn my head slightly to be sure of who it was. "Guys, why is Mike up at five a.m.?"

"Because he wanted to say hi too!" Hannah exclaims.

I groan and stuff my face back under the pillow. I hear multiple snickers from behind me. "Okay, how many people are in this room?"

"Hm, good question," Hannah says. "A question that I won't answer until we see you."

"Can you see later because I'm tired because somebody woke me up at five a.m."

"Hey, I was confused!"

"That's new," Parker mumbles sarcastically.

"I heard that!"

Everyone laughs as I chuckle to myself. Then something clicks. If Mike is here, then Jason would have to be here too.

I'm gonna murder Hannah.

Maybe.

I bury my face deeper under the pillow. I'm surprised I can still breathe under this thing. Next thing I know, the blankets are ripped off of the bed just as they turn on the lights. I groan once again and curl into a ball because of the lack of warmth from the blanket. I keep the pillow over my face to block the light. Someone tries to take it away, but I don't let them.

They're so nice.

"Why do you guys hate sleep?" I complain as I squint in the new light flooding my eyes. I tighten my hold on the pillow and close my eyes to block the light. "Can someone tell me what's going on because one second you're singing off-key and the next I can't even fall back to sleep!"

"Well, you see," Hannah begins. "We've been planning this day for a while. That's why I've been addicted to my phone."

I knew it! I think to myself.

"Anyway, everyone is here to celebrate because it's a national holiday."

"It is?" I ask confused.

"It's your birthday, weirdo!"

"I know that, silly, but you said national. I'm not that special for that."

Everyone mumbles their own disagreements. I hear "Yes you are!" "Why wouldn't you be that special?" and "Isn't all of the princess birthdays a super important holiday for the whole country?" I smile at that comment as the bed dips slightly behind me.
