"Talon!" Dr. Claw yelled for his nephew.
   "What?"
"I need you to infiltrate HQ and get the missile launch codes. That way I can destroy HQ with their weaponry."
"Sure," Talon replied but secretly smiled to himself. If he goes to HQ, he could go meet Penny and apologize to her face to face for suddenly leaving her. "But I'm sure that plan would completely and utterly fail, Uncle Claw. And it's not very original."
"If you don't succeed I'll throw you to the sharks."
"Yeah yeah going," Talon replied, waving his hand at the threat. Talon has been thrown to the sharks so many times and he managed to survive.
What's getting thrown to the sharks one more time if he can apologize?
Talon stood in front of the flower shop with his hair down, fake glasses, a nude shirt with a tie, blue jeans, and sneakers. "Here goes nothing." He mumbled to himself as the sunflower zoomed to his face. Talon took out a laser pen and zapped the flower. It frizzed for a moment then opened the ground below him. Thanks to his rocket boots he didn't fall.
This wasn't his first time being at HQ so he figured Penny would be in one of three places: the holographic room, Professor Von Slickstein laboratory, or the cafeteria. Penny wasn't in the first two rooms, she was in the cafeteria, smackdown in the middle between Brain and Kayla, surrounded by agents.
"Here goes nothing," Talon mumbled to himself before walking in. His disguises always worked up to the point Penny finds out. He walked right to Penny's table, "got room for one more?"
Kayla speaks first. "Sure and what's your name? I have never seen you around before." Penny just looks. And Brain's just shoving food in his mouth.
"I'm Matt from accounting. You know how that is." Talon said as he took a seat next to Penny. She stared at him. "I rarely ever leave my desk. I need a guide, recommend anyone?"
"Penny you aren't busy so why don't you show Matt around?" Talon secretly in his head thanked Kayla.
"I'm busy, why don't you do it?" Penny shot her friend a look.
"I have to do something and Brain has to help me. Come on Brain." She snatched him by the arm and dragged him out of the cafeteria. Poor dog, he couldn't even finish his lunch.
"Guess I'm stuck with you," Penny said as she got up. "Here."
She guided Matt to the holographic room. "Here we train. Matt, you're good in a fight right?"
"Oh, the best. My sparring partner always loses."
"Oh really?" Penny questioned. She smiled to herself as she threw a kick. Matt barely dodged and stumbled backward. "If you wanted a fight you could have just asked."
"Talon! What are you doing here?" Penny put her fist in a fighting stance.
They fought. Well, Penny fought and Talon just dodged.
"Why did I come here? There's only one reason."
"Whatever Dr. Claw sent you here to do, I'll stop you. And that's the worst disguise you have ever worn. Just because you put on glasses and styled your hair differently doesn't change your face."
"Hey this is a great disguise! But I want to say sorry."
   Penny stopped mid-way. "What?"
"Sorry about last night. I shouldn't have left you." The look in his eyes made Penny's heart skip a beat.
"Is okay. If you didn't go, Dr. Claw would have suspected something."
"Does that mean you're not mad?"
"No silly!" Penny leaned forward and hugged him. Talon hugged her back. "Thank you."
"Since you're here. How about we finish our date?"
"You took the words right out of my mouth."
Three spent the entire day laughing, joking, playing as if they have been friends for years. It surprised everyone.
Brain and Kayla were the first ones to act. They forced Penny and Matt to play a friendly game of dodgeball, as the other's partner. It was an awkward game. And it didn't help when Dr. Claw called his nephew. And it most certainly didn't help when Brain overheard him. He instinctively ran to Penny.
Penny knew she had to act. "Brain, you watch Uncle Gadget and I'll get him."
Talon watched their transaction, he knew. He ran, he knew he couldn't get remotely close to finishing his mission. But he had a plan.
As Penny was trying to find Talon, she was attacked by their so-called MAD-proof security system. The vending machine shot chips and soda cans. Penny dodged them all along with the robotic hands trying to grab her. It was chaotic in the halls.
   "Talon! Stop this!"
"Ha! Penny just in time." He smiled as he bubbled her to the wall.
   "What are you doing?"
"Trying to guess the mission launch code. Care to give me a clue?"
   "No way."
"Well you guys have so many buttons, I wonder what they all do?" Talon pushed a bunch of bottoms.
   "Stop that!"
Just then Kayla ran in. "Penny there you are! It's totally crazy out there." She stated, not noticing Talon there. "Matt, you're Talon?"
"About time someone figured it out!"
Kayla hurried to get Penny freed.
"I would love to stay but...bye." Talon's rocket boots started. As he tried to fly out, Penny grabbed his leg and used the bubble glue to keep him in place.
"You two are practically made for each other! How come you guys never move on?"
"I don't want to be handed a win, I want to deserve it. Talon is a challenge. My challenge." Penny explained.
"No matter what you think, Penny is amazing. Um I mean I like being the challenge. Knowing that I'm just so important to her." As soon as he finished, Penny lost her grip on him. She fell to the floor and he flew out of there.
Hopefully, nobody suspected anything after she hung out with "Matt" the whole day.
