"Why did you want to meet me?" Penny asked. Soon after the whole fiasco at HQ, Talon reached out and asked to meet.
"Can't I simply meet my girlfriend?"
Penny flinched at the word, they had never referred themselves to that.
   "It's fine. Just come inside."
"But look at the sky. It's magnificent."
"Yes, but it wouldn't do us any good if someone spots us together. Now come inside! I disabled the security camera by the roof door."
   "Okay okay."
As soon as they entered the threshold Penny was engulfed in a hug. "I missed you," Talon whispered into her ear.
"I missed you too." She said as she hugged back. "I have something to say." She broke away. "It's important, it's about us."
"Oh, that can't be good. Let me guess the HQ incident. I know we shouldn't have spent time together but nobody is going to suspect anything. Calm down."
"But that's just it!" Penny's voice begins to shake. When I stopped you, everyone was congratulating me! They all told me how much they trust me. I feel as if I am breaking their trust!" Tears started to form.
"I understand it is hard, but you are not doing anything wrong! We're just spending time together." Talon cupped her face.
"But that's just it! I am hurting them every single time I lie."
They stared at each other for a moment.
"We have to stop. It's for the best." Penny pulled his hands away from her face.
"No. No." He said again. "You're doing this for you!" He yelled. "This is the best for you! But what about me? You're the best thing that has happened to me!"
"I know," Penny said as she struggled to look at him.
"You were the one that started this! You were the one that confessed first! Do you have anything to say?"
Silence. Talon's eyes reflect his pain. "Fine." He finally said after minutes.
Penny involuntarily cried as Talon walked away. She wanted him to stay but she didn't chase after him.
After minutes of crying, she whipped the last of her tears away. As she was walking down the stairs to her apartment Brain stopped her. She froze.
"Did you hear everything?" She questioned. Hoping that he would say no. He shook his head yes.
"Please don't tell Uncle Gadget! Please don't tell anyone!" She pleaded.
Brian extended his paws to Penny's surprise. Her tears flooded back. "Thank you." She whispered. "I'm sorry."
