Talon flew all night long. He couldn't go back home, to the uncle that treats him like a minion, or to a cat that hates him. His eyes, foggy with tears.
"Why?" He choked out. He couldn't hold back anymore. Tears ran down his face. He gripped his chest. "Why?" Penny was the girl he loved for years.
It was stupid to think they could have a future together. It was stupid to try. There will always be something pulling them apart.
Too bad they couldn't have figured it out sooner.
The sun bright gleam startled him. It hadn't been nearly around ten when he met Penny. Talon had been flying for nearly six hours. He had been out for far too long.
He hoped he wouldn't have to see Penny for a while.
"Talon! Where have you been?" Uncle Claw screeched at his nephew.
"Right here."
"Do you know how long I have been calling you?"
Talon rolled his eyes. "What do you want?"
"Not me. It seems MADcat had made a little mess."
"Yeah sure," Talon said as he grabbed a towel. His reaction startled his uncle. Even the cat noticed.
"What is wrong with you?" Uncle Claw demanded to know.
"What are you talking about? Nothing is wrong. Oh, the sharks need to be fed right? Yeah, I'll do that after. And I don't know, maybe clean the ship? I'll just see what I can do." Talon struggled to say. He needed to be busy. He needed his mind off Penny. "Okay, bye."
In an entire day, the MAD lair had changed. The place was truly spotless for the first time. Everything is neat and clean. MADcat had been so freaked by Talons' attitude that she started using her little box. Everyone at MAD was stunned.
It was truly a sight to behold: Talon doing chores he wasn't even told to do, without a single objection. He seemed to be happy just doing them.
"You wanted to see me, uncle?" Talon rushed to his uncle's side.
"Talon, this is Dr. Petrov."
"Okay? What are we supposed to do?"
"Nothing, nothing." Dr. Duluth said in a thick Russian accent. "Sit down, hurry!"
Talon did as he was told.
"Let me see," the doctor started.
"Well?" Dr. Claw demanded.
"Nothing, nothing, he is fine! Healthy!" The doctor announced.
"How?!"
"But his eyes. Red."
"I got soap in my eyes! Ugh, uncle claw? There is nothing wrong with me!" Talon announced.
"I know, you are heartbroken!" The doctor announced.
"Your crazy, old man."
"What hair product was discontinued?" Uncle Claw asked. "We'll steal their formula."
"Really uncle claw? You would do something for me?" Talon was beyond shocked.
"Hey the heart wants what it wants. And you're totally creeping me out so yes. But only this once!" He screeched.
"Yes yes this is so very good." The doctor said, "pretty boy you love something so do whatever you can to hold onto it."
"Thanks for the advice. And Uncle Claw the hair cream of Midnight Musk isn't discontinued but sold out immediately!" Talon pleated.
"Sure whatever." He said.
Hours later Talon knocked on Penny's door then ran away after placing a box on her step. Inside was her favorite movie franchise's most popular product and a note asking her to come to the roof.
