On Sunday at seven in the morning, I heard running footsteps near my room. It was Mia who was excited about spending the day with family.

"Wake up Andy! Don't be late, it's time to get ready. We'll start at 8:30," Mia says as she knocks on my door.

When she opens the door, I say," Sure Mia, I'm gonna take a shower, and we'll meet in the dining area." Then, I leave to take a shower.

Family days out are rare because dad is always busy with his work and the weekend is the only day he gets off, so we didn't want to disturb him. Instead, our mom takes us out at least once a month. Thankfully, Mia's school friends live in our neighborhood, so when mom and dad are not available, she can go over to her friend's place or the other way around.

We all gather in the dining area, "What are your plans for today honey?" mom asks dad as she takes a sip of her. "Some natural spots and then shopping. Are you okay with it kids?" he asks doubtfully.

"It's good Dad, I love nature" Mia exclaims in excitement. "Yeah honey, it's nice to go to nature spots in this weather," Mom says.

Our first task after breakfast was packing ourselves in the car and going to the filling station to make sure we had enough fuel for the trip. Then we headed to Parque Natural de la Albufera in Valencia, which is kind of close to where we live. We spent almost two hours there.

Then we went to the Bioparc Valencia. It's a wildlife park. It took us quite a while to explore it. We left in the afternoon. In the car, for our lunch, the sandwich was already prepared by mom before we left. Mom asked if we could go to the beach and eat it there. "Yes!" Mia and I scream together. Playa del Malvarrosa Beach, one of Mia's and my favorites, is where we went.

After lunch, we went shopping. I recommended yesterday's food truck for dinner when it was time. On our way home, we stopped at the food truck and had dinner there. On our way home, everyone was so tired. Once we got home, Mia and I thanked dad for taking us out.

When we returned to our rooms, "Can I sleep with you today? "If you don't mind, I will." Says Mia.

"Sure princess, but I don't have any extra pillows or blankets. I packed them all. You will have to bring your own stuff", I told her.

"I'll be back in a minute", she says as she runs to her room.

I helped her carry pillows and a blanket to my room. It was bedtime, and Mia has a habit of hugging a pillow while sleeping, but today it was me instead of the pillow. She slept peacefully beside me.
