I am finishing my first year of college today. It seems like it has only been a few months since I started college, but actually, my first year is over. Since my family can't afford me to attend an expensive college, I will have to move back to my hometown Berlin, where I will live on my own and attend college. I would love to stay back in California and move back to Berlin. It's hard to move on without some people who were there with you from the very beginning. My parents suggested me two or three colleges in Berlin. After that, it's my decision which college to attend. I have to pack up all my stuff and ship it. My cute little sister will miss me. I'm leaving her. I've been with her since she was born. She will always be in my back calling brother! Brother! Brother! She's already upset since my parents told her that I'm leaving California. I agreed to take her out before heading to Berlin as part of my promise. My friends are throwing me a send-off party and the list of things to do is already too long. I've only got three weeks to do all this!

"Hey, Andrews!" with a tone of excitement, my sister comes down the stairs. "Hey, Mia! "I replied with the same excitement.

"Come with me!" Pulling my hands, she goes up the stairs, then into her room. "Shhhh! Do you love me?" As she waits for my answer, her eyes widen.

"Yes, of course, Mia. Why wouldn't I love you? You are my only sister and I of course love you cutie." I said holding her face in my hands.

"Then can you ask mom if I can take off for school until you leave? I'd love to spend some quality time with you!" Her eyes melt me as she says this.

"Woah, that's not going to happening girl. That's an extremely long break. Mom will say no, but maybe you could take a few days off. I'll let you know when I'm available. So, we can spend time together.'' I disappointed her by telling her this.

Trying to cope with her sad situation, she answers, "Ahhhh, ok fine.".

"Okay, but with one condition. Just make sure you don't annoy mom and dad. Work hard to get good marks in the exam. Mom may also look for a job since we are not in a good condition. You must understand and work with them," I tell her.

She nods her head understandingly and assures me, "surely I will, Andy," She calls me that way.

We were about to ask about Mia taking off for school to be with me when she took my hand and we went down the stairs. We wanted to make sure they weren't in a bad mood before asking them.

We saw them sitting on the couch reading the morning newspaper in a serious mood.

After seeing their reaction, I told her, "Hmm, we better not ask them about it now." They appear to be in a serious mood. I will discuss it over breakfast. I hope they will be better by then."

Mia sighed heavily and said, "Ok, but make sure I get off to school when you're available." I replied, "I will do my best.".

Both of us returned to our rooms. While I was packing my stuff, my sister started studying for a bit to ensure that she wouldn't be left behind with lots of schoolwork. I found a few memories of my California days while packing my belongings.
