I place my belongings on the bed. I take my drawing kit and place it on the desk. I place my hand on the desk, gently caressing the wood. Well... I guess this is my new home now.

-Trying to Adapt-

Y/N P.O.V

I wake up to movement beneath me. I wake up to see the tile is moving around, causing the bed to shake violently. If I didn't know about this, I would have freaked out. But I'm aware that I've moved to Casita with the Madrigal family. So I'll have to get used to living in a house that is alive.

I yawn as I blink slowly, trying to keep myself awake. The tile starts shaking again. "Okay okay! I'm awake" I said. I instantly stand up. The tile starts moving. It makes a sound as if it's clapping, they seem satisfied that they manage to wake me up.

I let out a sigh. "I've got to get used to this..." I said. I hear Mirabel letting out a soft chuckle as she stood before me. "Oh, don't worry. You will" she said. I just smile at her. I blink sleepily and yawn.

The tile starts making me jump around. "Okay! Cut it out! I'm not going to sleep!" I said, trying my best to stay balance. But I ended up falling on my butt in the end. Mirabel bursts out laughing at me.

"Come on, Casita... take it easy on her. She's still new here" she said, walking towards me. She offers me a hand, I grab her hand and she pulls me up. I pout while looking at the tiles. "You're mean..." I said. The tiles moves as if saying sorry. I let out a chuckle and shake my head.

"By the way, Mirabel..." I said. I turn to look at her. "Yeah?" She said. "I heard you shuffling around last night, and when I turn over. You weren't there" I said. "Uhh... I..." she stuttered out nervously. I look at her in confusion.

"Are you alright, Mirabel?" I said. "Oh... I'm fine. Don't worry..." she said. She looks nervous. Which is a sign that she's lying. But I don't wanna pressure her so I just stay silent.

"I need to go, Y/N. I have to talk to Dolores about something" she said. "Okay..." I said, nodding my head. She smiles at me and turns around to leave the room. I let out a sigh and the tile under me moves.

"Okay... I get it, Casita. I'll get ready" I said. I let out another sigh and starts getting ready. I grab my bag and walks out of the room. I make my way towards where the other Madrigals are gathering.

I notice Mirabel talking to Dolores. But she just stare at her. I walk towards them, just as Felix appear. He stare at Dolores with an annoyed face.

"Camilo. Stop pretending you're Dolores so you can have seconds!" He said. Dolores turns into Camilo. "Worth a shot" he said. Casita smacks his back. He yelps as he struggles to keep the food balance.

"The only one worried about the magic is you... and the rats talking in the walls. Oh, and Luisa. I heard her eye twitching all night..." Dolores said. She let out a squeak as she walks away. I turn to look at her in confusion.

"Y/N. Come on. Grab some food for yourself..." Pepa said. "Huh? Oh... okay" I said. I grab a plate and place some foods on top of it. "Everyone to the table, let's go" Abuela said, she sounded agitated. I turn my attention to the table. Not knowing where to sit.

"Y/N. Sit here..." Camilo said, patting an empty chair next to him. "Okay" I said. I walk towards him and sit next to him. I turn my head and notice Mirabel trying to talk to Luisa.

"Family, we are all thankful for Antionio's wonderful new..." she stops mid-sentence when she notice three coatis on her chair. "Gift" she finishes. She turns to look at Antonio.

"I told them to warm up your seat!" He said. I cooed softly at his cuteness. "Thank you, Toñito. I'm sure today we'll find a way to put your blessing into good use. As for you, Y/N. You can start helping the town by conjuring up what they need" she said. I froze at what she said. I feel a hand grabbing mine under the table. I turn my head to look at the person to see it's Camilo.

"It's okay. You can do this..." he said, smiling at me reassuringly. I just return his smile with a nervous one. He give my hand a light squeeze, and let it go. For some reasons, I kinda wish that he'll keep on holding my hand.

"You do!!" Mirabel suddenly said. I turn my head to look at her. "Mirabel" Abuela said, in a stern voice. She turns to look at her with a nervous expression. "If you can't pay attention, I will help you" Abuela said.

"Actually, I-" Mirabel tries to say. "Casita?" Abuela said, cutting her off. The house moves Mirabel next to Abuela. I can see her annoyance. She glance at Luisa, who instantly looks away from her.

"As I was saying, we must never take our miracle for granted. So today, we will work twice as hard" Abuela said. "Hmm... I will help Luisa" Mirabel said. She tries to stand up. "Stop. Y/N will help Luisa. She can create anything the people wants and Luisa will help carry it around" Abuela said. Casita makes her sit back down. I just sit there nervously. What if they asked me to do create something bad?

Abuela turns her attention to the rest of us. "First, an announcement. I've spoken to the Guzmans about Mariano's proposal to Isabela. Dolores, do we have a date?" She said. Dolores tilts her head. "Tonight. He wants five babies" she said. Isabela froze as a few flowers sprouted on her head.

"Wonderful, such a fine young man. Will bring a new generation of magical blessings and make both of our families stronger" Abuela said, pleased with what she had heard.

Camilo grins as he turns into Mariano. He wiggles his eyebrows and makes kissy face. Isabela looks annoyed and whack his face with flowers. "Ey!" He said. He turns to me and blows out a couple of petal from his mouth. I cover my mouth as I let out a soft giggle.

"Okay, our community is counting on us. La Familia Madrigal!" Abuela said. They repeat what she said. I don't know if I should go along. But I'm aware that I'm not actually a part of them. So I just stay silent. But I know, that I have to try my best in adapting to this family's culture. Let's just hope I won't mess it up.
