I gasp when the shard seems to float. A flash of light from the thunder appear, revealing a man wearing a coat. The tunnel went dark, and another flash appear but the man is no longer there. Who was that??

-A Truth-

Y/N P.O.V

We quickly run forward, trying to chase the person. But the person is fast. He swiftly runs across a the wooden plate. We run under the wood. This tunnel is quite tight, so it's hard to run around.

The man jumps over a chasm. But it's too far. She turns to look at me. "Can you do something?" She said. "There's no time, Mirabel! We're going to lose him!" I said. "You're right. Guess we have to jump" she said. "Jump?! Are you crazy!" I yelled.

She ignores me as she gets ready and rush forward. She tries to follow the person's steps. She manage to land safely. But the wood breaks beneath her.

"Mirabel!!" I yelled out. I start to panic as I try to think what to do. "Casita! Help!" She yelled out. She struggles to hang on.

"Help me... help me!!" She said. "Mirabel hold on!" I yelled. Her hand slip through. I cover my eyes out of fear. But there's silence. I open my eyes to see the person holding her hand.

"You're very sweaty..." he said. The floor beneath him breaks. "No!" I yelled. The man appear, he use his ruana to fan away the mist. Turns out there is a floor beneath. I let out a sigh of relief.

I climb down and walk across. Mirabel gives me her hand and pulls me up. She helps the person. He just stare at her for a few seconds. "Bye..." he said, and he walks away.

"What? No... hold on!" Mirabel said. She hurriedly follow him. I quickly follows them, not wanting to be in this creepy tunnel alone. The man ignores us and keeps walking.

As Mirabel tries to keep up, she sees that Bruno is extremely superstitious. He even avoids walking under a ladder. As I look around I notice this place has all kinds of good luck charms.

"Wait, wait... Ow! Why did you take the vision? - what does it mean? Is it why you came back or..." Mirabel tries to speak but he keeps ignoring her.

"Knock knock knock. Knock on wood!" He said. He takes a deep breath, holding it while crossing his fingers. He keeps walking forward. "Tio Bruno?" Mirabel said.

Tio Bruno? So this is the Bruno they are all talking about. He's not even 7 feet. He didn't even have that scary look. Instead he looks... anxious?

"You were never suppose to see the vision. No one was... a little salt" he said, tossing salt at Mirabel because I duck away. "Sugar" He said, tossing another again. I wince as the sugar hits my face. "Hey!" I protested.

"Sana sana, colita de rana" he muttered, while trying to avoid cracks. I turn my head to see a lot of cracks on the wall. "Wait, have you been in here... patching the cracks?" I said. He turns to look at me. "Oh that? No, no, no, no, no, I'm too scared to go near those things. All the patching's done by Hernando" he said.

"Who is... hernan-" Mirabel stops mid sentence as she turns to look at her uncle. He have his hood on. "I'm Hernando, and I'm scared of nothing. It's actually me... I say my real gift was 'acting'" he said.

He grabs a bucket and place it on his head. "I'm Jorge, and I make the spackle" he said, a spackle in his hand. I blink in surprise at how weird he's being right now. "How long have you been... back here?" Mirabel said.

"You never left..." Mirabel said. We are now inside a room. "Well, I-I left my tower, which was you know, a lotta stairs, and uh in here... eh? eh? Kitchen adjacent - ooo plus, free entertainment!" He said. He grabs a rat and place it on a mini stage.

"So whattya like? Whattya like? You like sports? Game Show? Telenovelas? Their love could never be..." he said, taking a seat on the couch. "I don't understand..." Mirabel said.

"Well, because she's his aunt and she has amnesia, so she can't remember that she's his aunt, you see it's like a very forbidden kind of-" he tried to explain. "I don't understand why you left... but didn't leave" Mirabel said, cutting him off. Bruno stays silent as he looks uncomfortable by her words.

"Oh, well... because you know the mountains around the Encanto are pretty tall... and uh - you know like I said, free food... and everything... Yeah, you guys, you guys love the free food, don't ya? Always hungry, never satisfied..." he said, getting up. He grabs a rat and holds the food close to it.

Mirabel walks forward, she seem to notice a little crack. She peaks through it and gasp softly. She turns to the table and place a hand on top of it. There's drawings with the name Bruno.

I turn to look at Bruno. I realize how badly this guy still wants to be part of the family. I feel bad for him. It kinda reminds me of myself back at C/N.

"My gift wasn't helping the family... but uh... but I love my family, you know... I just don't know how to... I just don't know how to..." he starts. He looks at Mirabel. He lets out a sigh and sits down.

"Well anyway, I think you and uh..." he paused, as he turns to me. "Y/N..." I said, realizing he's wondering who I am. "Yeah... you and Y/N should go, because um - well, I don't really have a good reason, but if I did, you'd be like, I should go 'cause that's a good reason" he said. Instead of going, Mirabel walks up to him and kneels down.

"Why was I on your vision? Tio Bruno..." she asked. But Bruno just stays silent. I can see the sadness in his eyes. "I just... wanted to make the family proud of me... just once. But if I should stop... if I'm hurting my family... just tell me" she said. He turns to look at her. He lets out a sigh.

"I can't tell you... because I don't know. I've had this vision. The night you didn't get your gift. Abuela worried about the magic, so she begged me to look into the future, see what it meant" he said. He takes out the shards. He starts placing them together.

"And I saw the magic in danger... our house... breaking... and then... and then, and then... I saw you. But the vision was different. It... it would change... and there was no one answer... no clear fate. Like your future was undecided. But I knew how it was gonna look, I knew what everyone would think because I'm Bruno and everyone always assumes the worst... so... so..." he paused. Mirabel takes the tray and runs her hand across it.

"You left... to protect me?" She said. "I don't know which way it'll go... but my guess... the family, the Encanto, the fate of the miracle itself - it's all gonna come down to you" he said. I look at Mirabel with a worried face. That's a lot of burden... even for me and I've done something terrible in the past. I can't imagine what she's feeling right now.
