chapter ten
"y/n got hurt fighting a curse?"

A/n: short chapter.

•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•

Now remember that mission we were talking about that had maki training everyone and y/n training by herself too? yea well this is it the only thing is that y/n won't be using bloodfield. now why did you think maki had her train using her objects? It's to prepare y/n for this very said mission since, if said girl was to use her blood field technique she would have passed out mid-battle.

This was a mission that she had to take alone yes you read that right, her friends weren't there to support her since this was another one of her instructor's tests but in the end, it wasn't really a test since she was killing real curses.

Let's begin.

The flickering streetlights of Shibuya cast eerie shadows across the deserted alley. The once-bustling district now lay in ruins, a battleground for sorcerers and curses alike. Y/N stood at the heart of this chaos, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Blood trickled down from a gash on her forehead, mingling with the sweat and grime that covered her face.

"Damn it," she muttered, wiping her brow with the back of her hand. The curse she had been tracking had been more formidable than anticipated It escaped straight into the streets of Shibuya the last place it needed to be. Its grotesque form slithered in the darkness, its multiple eyes glowing with malevolent intent.

Y/n tightened her grip on the weapon Maki gave her, a specially crafted katana imbued with cursed energy. She could feel the weight of the blade, a reassuring presence in the midst of uncertainty. "Come on, show yourself," she taunted, her voice steady despite the pounding in her chest.

A low growl echoed through the alley, and the curse lunged from the shadows, mouth wide open and dripping with venom. Y/n moved swiftly, her body reacting on instinct honed through countless battles she and her classmates were involved in. She swung the katana in a precise arc, aiming for the creature's neck.

But the curse was faster. Its clawed hand struck y/n's side, sending her crashing into the wall. Pain exploded through her ribs, and y/n gasped, struggling to stay conscious. She could feel the curse's venom seeping into the wound, a burning sensation that threatened to overwhelm her.

wtaf- ik I'm not gonna die like this.

"nuh uh, not like this," y/n  gritted her teeth, forcing herself to stand. she couldn't afford to give up. not when she hasn't even lived her life to the fullest yet. Think about how many shopping trips she'd miss? yea no I think I'll pass on this dying stuff.

But before she could regain her balance a flash of blue light erupted from behind her, and she turned to see Gojo, his limitless technique shimmering around him. With a single gesture, he unleashed a devastating blast of cursed energy, obliterating the curse in an instant.

you came at the right time sensei-

"need a hand?" he asked, his usual bubbly personality replaced with a look of genuine concern. now when he was assigning her to this mission he knew the danger of it but he thought she could handle it? well she did handle the other curses so he gave her props for that, but god knows if he hadn't arrived on time the circumstances of this situation?

y/n nodded, barely able to stand. "just a bit," she admitted, leaning on her katana for support. yea bloodfield all the way, there was no way she'd fight a curse with a katana again. Gojo approached, his eyes scanning y/n's injuries. "You're lucky I got here when I did. That curse was no joke."

yea now stop talking and help me up god damn it!

"I noticed," y/n replied with a weak smile. "thanks for the save." "anytime," Gojo said, his tone light but his eyes serious. "let's get you patched up."

As they made their way out of the alley, y/n couldn't help but reflect on the battle. They had faced countless curses before yea, but this one had been different. Stronger, more intelligent. There was something unsettling about it, a sense of malevolence that lingered even after its destruction.

"hey, Gojo," y/n began, her voice tinged with worry. "do you think there's more out there like that?" poor girl didn't even know this was another test but a damn real one.

Gojo was silent for a moment, his gaze distant. "probably," he finally said. "The balance between curses and sorcerers is always shifting. We just have to be ready for whatever comes next."

They finally made it back to the school, her friends coming to check on her ever so often - especially megumi, she was in shokos office getting patched up. oh god, it was a pretty big wound I mean she almost lost her life in that battle??? but as a jujutsu sorcerer you just have to prepare for this worst. but not this girl, she wasn't dying anytime soon.

After shoko dismissed her, nobara insisted she stayed the night with her in her dorm - y/n had no obligations, megumi and yuji coming to check/stay with her as they ordered pizza, nobara sharing the details about her recent date.
