"tease"

A grimmy day. y/n was in bed - well she was bedridden since she had this big ass injury, and it was now when she wished she could go out and run around on the field with her friends but guess what? she can't.

All she did was twist and turn in her bed - damn why is it so hot today? shoko couldn't come to clean her bandages and she as hell wasn't gonna do it herself so yk what she did? call her best friend - no not nobara since she was busy, she decided to call megumi a decision that would be terrible in the long run. 

A soft knock was heard around 20 minutes later she shouted 'coming in' to the person on the other side of her bedroom door, megumis heart softened after he saw the state she was in a little happy she called him over to assist her with whatever she needed. 

Y/n winced as she tried to sit up, the pain in her ribs flaring up again. she had barely slept, her mind and body still reeling from the intense battle the day before.

"Stay still, Y/N," came a familiar voice. megumi appeared at her side, carrying a tray with bandages, antiseptic, and a bowl of warm water. His expression was a mix of concern and frustration.

"you're supposed to be resting," he scolded gently, setting the tray down and kneeling beside her. "you can't keep pushing yourself like this."

y/n sighed, a small smile playing on her lips. "I know, I know. but you know me, I can't just sit around and do nothing." 

Megumi shook his head, a rare smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "stubborn as ever," he muttered, dipping a cloth into the warm water and gently cleaning the wound on her side. his touch was surprisingly tender, his usually stoic demeanor softened by his concern for her.

y/n watched him work, feeling a strange warmth spread through her chest that had nothing to do with her injuries a feeling she knew she shouldn't be feeling. "you know, you're pretty good at this," she teased her voice light despite the pain. "maybe you missed your calling as a nurse."

Megumi rolled his eyes, but there was a hint of amusement in them. "yeah, right. because i'd be great at dealing with whining patients all day." "well, you're dealing with me, aren't you?" y/n shot back, grinning.

"exactly my point," megumi replied dryly, though his eyes softened as he continued tending to her wounds. "but seriously y/n, you need to be more careful. I don't want to see you getting hurt like this again."

Y/n's smile faded, replaced by a look of genuine appreciation. "thanks, Megumi. I mean it. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Megumi's hands stilled for a moment, his eyes meeting hers. there was something in his gaze, something that made y/n's heart skip a beat. now - wtaf was this feeling??

"you don't have to thank me," he said softly. "I'll always be here for you. you're my best friend."

The room seemed to grow warmer, the air charged with an unspoken tension. y/n swallowed hard, her pulse quickening. "megumi, i-"

But before she could finish, megumi's hand brushed against her cheek, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. "you don't have to say anything," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "I just want you to know that you're important to me. more than you realize."

Y/n's breath caught in her throat, her mind racing. she had always known megumi cared about her, but this - this felt different. more intense. more real. hell she didn't even know how to describe this?

Unable to resist, she leaned into his touch, her eyes fluttering closed. "megumi-" His thumb traced a gentle line along her jaw, his breath warm against her skin. "y/n," he whispered, his voice filled with an emotion that made her heartache.

For a moment, everything else faded away – the pain, the danger, the uncertainty. All that mattered was this moment, this connection between them. a connection she'd never thought would make her feel this crazy.

And then, with a hesitant smile, megumi leaned in closer, his lips just a breath away from hers. "you're a tease, you know that?" he said, his voice low and filled with affection.

Y/n couldn't help but laugh softly, her own smile matching his. "Takes one to know one," she replied, her heart soaring.
